The MM I bought was routed. Finally got around to a proper shop job on it. That protective layer of dirt had an extremely nice playfield underneath
I’m not a big fan of mods (except colordmd) but I did manage to locate a translucent backboard and put 4 separately wired flashers behind it. The lightning strikes look amazing

Got my translucent backboard set up

Check your 12v power supply. I had a flintstones that behaved similarly and it was the 12v sagging under gameplay load which would make optos misfire
