Quoted from Lhyrgoif:

I'm not sure its the correct guide, but its numbered as #2
https://www.pinballspareparts.com.au/mm-bg02.html
if it's the correct guide then it's located just below the entrance to the catapult (I think).

Some of their part numbers are random ones they made up unfortunately. That part is actually 01-14752.

I went through most of the PSPA ball guides and translated them to the Williams part numbers if anyone is interested.

Got any pics and details on how you connected up the lighting?

#954 2 years ago
Quoted from Lhyrgoif:

I got the translucent plastic that mounts on top of the castle towers to prevent ball hangs, but I'm not sure what way the protruding piece should face. Currently I have both pointing to the left as I felt that made most sense but I'm still unsure if correct.
Anyone got any pictures or know the intended orientation?

Bump

I’d point them back into the opening on either side of the castle.

Two are wired to the original backboard flashers and the other two are wired to the left or right forward habitrail flashers

Thanks both for answering but I'm not talking about the five small castle towers but the two large ones to the left and right of the drawbridge.

There is this optional plastic meant for mounting on top to prevent balls getting stuck inside the towers and I'm curious about the correct orientation of these (they are not entirely circular).

That's what I was referring to, I'd point them into the openings on either side of the castle angled toward the back of the machine.

Anyone have a spare bridge ramp flap they want to sell?

01-14671.1 is part number

OR... if someone can get me a good trace of theirs I can fabricate some from stainless

Final polish and cleaning on the playfield restore. Now I’m done done. The artwork really pops now that it’s shined up. The pf looks like it is under water in the light.

Yesterday my flippers and trolls did not work anymore. Checked fuses, reseated some connectors ... and gently pushed ASIC / U20 chip / Game rom on CPU board. Flippers and trolls working again, but do have a new issue now:

During each game after some minutes, Battle for the Kingdom starts all of a sudden. Have I maybe somehow damaged Game rom .. or maybe something else? Thanks for help!

I have a set of spot light covers and a cup holder that goes great with the MM theme. If anyone has any interest PM me. The spot lights are hand painted for a wood look. The cup holder can be mounted on the left or right by flipping the bracket.

The trolls use the upper flipper circuits, so that explains why both of those stopped working as they are related.

When you reseated some of the connectors, have you misaligned the ribbon cable as it is easy to do?

If you go into switch test mode, what switches are closed on the DMD display? Also test all your switches, are they activating correctly or are you getting either multiple switches being activated or are switches activating multiple times?

1) Does a green moat look better than clear moat?

2) What is this big plastic for? It is 8.5” diameter

With flashers it looks spookier with green flashes on the castle front.

Dammit, Larry only makes clear moats. I’ll have to dye it green.

No one recognizes that big clear plastic? It’s definitely in the bom as 31-2831-7A. I couldn’t spot it in HEP restore gallery either

I used this one from PPS, nice and thick and fits well. http://www.planetarypinball.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=PPS-03-9681-7&Category_Code=GS-4032

White/red is on the wrong switch lug, should be on the right side lug.

Oh thank you, I was looking up the moat assembly part number and didn't realize they had just the plastic part in stock.

Yeah guess my choice is between a stronger starship moat or the correct green moat... kind of leaning towards the latter since it's a scratch build and the game will have cliffys day one anyway.

Ok so it took me 6 years to find this Slam Tilt issue! The game would only Slam Tilt during multiball and it has only done it 4 times in six years. With all the balls out I could not figure out what I did to cause the Slam Tilt. This time it was a two ball multiball. I hit both balls up the left ramp and it Slam Tilted. So I was “damn there it is again” but this time my little voice said “ what was the last thing that you did?” I hit two balls up the left ramp so perfectly to trip both switches at the same time to cause it to Slam Tilt. I verified the failure in switch test. Pressing both Left Ramp Enter and Left Ramp Exit at the same time causes Slam Tilt. Finding the condition that causes the Slam Tilt is at least half the battle. After that it’s finding the electrical/electronic issue solves the problem.

Had a similar issue with a Cirqus Voltaire and the juggler locks causing a slam tilt years ago. Can't remember exactly how I diagnosed it but remember that the switch was wired incorrectly from the factory.

#987 2 years ago

I got my MM with a clear moat and immediately put a green one back in. You can't see the wires through the green one and the flashers aren't as harsh.

Thanks for suggestions Manny65 . As a feedback; reseating ICs on CPU board did the trick! Happy to enjoy the game again!

Sure it's been asked but has anyone figured out how to put MMR Topper wired to the original.. ?
Have access to a topper... so was thinking .

No.

The original software won't support it.

#992 2 years ago

I never wired mine up, but it still looks bad ass on an original MM! If someone comes up with an adapter harness or easy to understand wiring diagram, I'll take a shot at wiring this thing up. It's one of the best toppers of all time, for sure.

Yes, it's been asked before. I have been working with Pinsider stumblor to create a plugin play board to do exactly that. He is close to finishing it. You can view some of the process here:

Just finished putting the Royal addition topper on my original MM machine. Had to do a few additional modifications to fit it correctly, but I think it turned out great.

I don't have toppers on any of my machines but think this looks great - really tempted!! Damn you!

Oh and the fact that we'll be able to integrate the lighting using stumblor new boards might me what pushes me over the edge ...

Are they even available anywhere?

Getting close! I'm planning to head over to a friends house who has an original MM in the next few weeks to do the final testing and design of the light shows, tied to the various modes. Will report back soon with progress.

They are a PIA. I couldn't get mine in, I wrote and was told that you basically have to mangle them. At that point I gave up and tossed it in my parts bin. Good luck with it.
