Girl on the BG looks like she has a black eye.
Quoted from DCRand:$60 Egghead. Not sure if it was even worth that. Will decide later if it’s a project, or parts machine. Legs are so rusted if I put them in Evaporust, they will disappear.[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
Great LEP score. I have fixed worse! Make it a player.
Sounds like lots of us enjoy reviving crappy old neglected worn out games. Give them a new lease on life and put them back out in circulation.
Second score in a month. Completed a proper social distancing pick up, he had it at the front of the garage, had wiped it down with bleach wipes which were still on top of the machine, and he stayed on one side of the garage while I looked it over. Agreed on price, I dropped the money on a table in the middle of the garage. Then rolled it out to my SUV, loaded up and left. Not a bad $150.00 Paddock. And came with a complete owners manual in the cabinet, look closely.

Great game, that will clean up nicely. That was one of my wife’s childhood favorites and we found one in Maine last summer that was more dough and in nearly the same condition.
Good luck with it,
Dave

Haaa. I'm offering my Gold Wings for sale on Craigslist with complimentary 4 pack of toilet paper and can of Lysol.
Not available for sale separately.

Nice score for a LEP man price!

I love the repair/restore process, it’s very very much a big part of the hobby. My wife told me when I retired that i “would” be finding a hobby that gets me off the couch, spending hours puttering and working in the shop keeps both of us happy!

I love the challenge
Hasn't been a post here for a while. Thought I would toss one out: Two games for $300, and one of them Doodle Bug although with trashed back glass and really bad cabinet paint, but decent or better play field. The other is Honey, and probably a parts game although while the back box, back glass, and cabinet are terrible, the play field isn't bad.
IMG_6902[1] (resized).JPGIMG_6906[1] (resized).JPGI love me a lep..give me a piece of crap non-working machine and I will have a smile on my face for 6 months while I bring it back to life. I don’t really care if I put 1000 hours into a machine I can’t sell for more than $500. I’m not in it for profit
I paid $200 for this one. It’s a huge project, but will be fun.

That is a fun looking game. Those upper flippers and progressive targets would be a blast
I'm a member of the low end price club. I've had well over 100 pins go through my hands
and rarely paid more than $225 for one. Kept the best 51. Some of the best deals were in swaps.
I'd trade my time fixing others machines for another broken one or swap one I had
that had been restored for 2 or 3 non-working pins.
Part of the fun is finding good deals. Much harder the last 10 years or so.

Welcome. Agree, when I got into this 10 years ago cheap projects were plentiful. Glad I bought more than I needed back then!

I’m doing a full restoration on it and hope it will be fun when completed. I have a thread in the restoration section if you’re interested in following.
$200 for three 1957 Wms Hi-Hand— delivered! Plus a $25 tip for the seller's guys who delivered them. Turns out, my seller was within a mile. How could I not go see them?
Hope to end up with one playing machine from the three.

Hell of a good LEP deal. $200 for three!
LEP Rule 1 -Never pass up a parts pin
Awesome! Bring those things back to life.....a little love, a little time, and a few thousand in parts and they can be good as new!
Here are my two recent LEP purchases 200 each. I think I got the better deal on HMM. Got Lucky Ace up and running 100% in about 1.5 hours it was very dirty but cleaned up really well. HMM needs some serious cleaning sat in a basment for 5 years and booted right up after checking voltages etc. needed a flipper rebuild and a new cap on the sound board. I will spend the next week cleaning HMM and it should be 100%. No topper with HMM but for 200 I can't complain!

Hell yes!
$200 for any SS is a killer deal nowadays.
Quoted from Peruman:The Domino I just finished was my first LEP find, $85. I thought it was going to be a parts machine but after getting it running I decided to bring it back.
Looks great! Very nice job. I wonder how bad was the paint under that contact paper(?) because there is no way that makes the pin look better. Ever.

A lot of the paint flaked off when I took the contact paper off so I stripped the cabinet and backbox down to bare wood.

Wow I love seeing these posts! Once they’re gone, they’re gone forever. Now this game will go back into circulation in better shape than found. Nice job!

That's what being an LEP man is all about. We are not just a bunch of cheap ass bastards. Bring them back to their former glory!
Good work

The domino is a lot of fun! I purchased a beat up one from a guy who immediately ( before I left with it) got sellers remorse and begged me to purchase it back once I got it fixed up. He had a sad story about his dad wanting to get it going before he died. So I caved and sold it back to him once I got it all cleaned up and working. He was so happy that i still feel good about it

Counts to me, great find.

Once you get it up and running look into upgrading your game code.

I originally considered myself a low end guy about 20 years ago. I did not want to buy that expensive $3200 new in the box Stern. I enjoyed buying those $1500 Theatre of Magic's, $1200 Addams Family's, a $1000 IJ, a $1800 CV/TOTAN, and all those $400-$800 cheap 'B' title games, like Getaway, Judge Dreed, Shadow, Indy500, WCS94, Roadshow, NBAFB, Flintstones, Demo Man, etc.

Envy you, I didn't get into home pin's until about 4.5 years ago. So missed all those great titles at those prices.
Hi , I have a Gottlieb Torch and a Williams Space Odyssey. Both not working. Thinking the SO would involve more hours to get up and running due to so many switches to clean and adjust, however cheaper than a pascal all in one board (which I love working with, such a good product). So game play wise which do you think you’d reach for first to fix, and why? Cheers!

I'll be contrary to the general public and state I can get and EM up and running usually under an hour or less.
No need to clean and adjust all, just focus on what isn't working.

Not really LEP, you were just buying them at market value.... NOT buying the neglected old wreck for pennies on the dollar just to get running again for fun.
All good, but just not what I would consider "LEP"

I would start with the Odyssy, have a Space Mission myself, great game. Also, if you have score reel problems, Williams are usually easier to fix. And what Gdonovan said is exactly right. Fix just what is broken. One of the ways to create lots of headaches for yourself is to "clean" and adjust every switch if you aren't really expert at working on EM's.
Quoted from guard:An almost 100% working Algar for $500 Canadian.
[quoted image][quoted image]
Definitely counts, Great LEP score!
$500 Canadian is a little high for your average LEP green, but that's a really rare pin, looks to be in fairly decent shape
- Though that's only $382 US dollars, so right on.
