It's a Bally Citation with an altered glass. Was talked about on the Bingo Forum a while back.

So here's another item of interest, a 1940 Bally "Vacation"
There are no images or price on the c-list ad, but I contacted the seller, James, since he's sort of in my neck of the woods, and got some pictures and a price from him.
$500 firm.
It's not working, but a pretty cool lookin' game. I tried my diplomatic best to let him know that non-working flipperless games are a tough sell and that he's not likely to get his asking price. However, I also told him I'd try to help him by spreading the word. Here's hoping someone proves me wrong and saves this machine with an asking price. ...or does a better job of diplomatic haggling than I did. Here it is:

The playfield says the name of this game is "Big Shot," but I couldn't find it on IPDB. Looks purely mechanical so I'm guessing it is from the 30's.
Any info on this one?

Man, were those flipperless Exhibit backglasses ever gorgeous. Seems like they were mandated to use every color of the rainbow. Haha! Love it.
Odd thing about that ad, tho, is they've posted screen shots of the pictures (!??!) instead of the actual pictures themselves.

Ahhh, nice catch. Didn't notice that, just that they were bad pictures. That would be an awesome scam, talk about being after a very specific mark. Perhaps they figure someone coming after a flipperless for 600 would be less dangerous than somebody coming after a DMD for 1k???

Wows, a couple things...
1) I think these photos are better than those on IPDB (to that end, I attempted to contact the seller...let's hope they take the same stance as the "Big Bank Nite" seller)
2) This looks like it has a similar mechanic as that Chicago Coin "Mars" listed on eBay a little while back that had us all salivating. In the backglass there's a pair of ducks (dux...ha!) that rotate into view. Bumpers score when birds are in view and turn off when not visible. So cool and theme appropriate. Additionally, from this picture of the backglass it appears to also (like "Mars") have a multi-tiered backglass(!!!)

Unfortunately, it looks like the background artwork in the backbox is gone, though.

1937 Bally "Skipper":
This one looks VERY very clean, plug-and-play, and sports dual projection units(!!!). *drools* Looks like it's had an alternate color scheme painted on it's cab at some point, which I actually quite like.
It's true. The light/blue/grey goes with the backglass and playfield a lot more harmoniously than the original brick red. But peep those individually hand painted dots on the cab. Ha-ha! Those...I could do without. Nit-pick, nit-pick...here it be:

"Previous owner purchased it in Las Vegas around 1930.
The machine was used by her and her husband for approximately 8 years until her husband died. It then went into storage. I received it in 1972 and again it went into storage. It has been covered and stored since.
It has the original balls. The ball loader and plunger both work; the coin mechanism is able to be pushed in and pulled out to drop the balls with no coin. It was fixed this way for the elderly couple and believe it can be restored to its original operation requiring a coin of a nickle ($.05)
The red door in the front has a lock to access the change box, but the key that came with it does not open the access panel.
Don't know what battery is needed to operate the two tilt lights because I've never taken any part of it apart.
The unit is all wood with a glass top and has bolts to secure the legs to the body of the game machine. It's in good condition for its age.

It's better to just send a link to the ads to Jay at the IPDB. He has to contact them directly for permission to post the photos. Some folks will not give permission for various reasons while others are very happy to and will sometimes send other detailed photos to Jay.
