Hello I have just acquired a Gottlieb 2001 machine. everything seems to work fine except the yellow drop targets. They drop when hit and add the points. When all five close out it should light up one eject holes at the top and the coinciding roll out switch at the bottom to change them from 50 points to 300. All the other 15 drop targets work fine. When all 20 are closed out the special lights that allow you to get free replays still light up and everything changes to 300 points except the yellow.
Looking for any ideas, or maybe this is a common issue any help would be appreciated
Thank you

Hi Billy7158 welcome to pinside.
I'll need to see a high quality scan of the schematic from e.g. Staples ($2) or Kinkos ($6)

Switches on the trip bank.

First of all there are two switches on each drop target, one for scoring and one to indicate it is down. The scoring switch is working on all the yellows and probably one of the down indicators is not. Check the switch adjustment, clean switches and look for broken wires.

The "P" relay should come on when all five yellows are down. Check on that relay, but if it doesn't come on when they are down the problem is in the switches above or associated wiring.

Finally I think there is an adjustment that gives special when only three banks are down instead of all four? This might be fooling you.

Thanks for all the advice john_i
I checked out the P relay if I close the switches the lights come on and the points change from 50 to 300

Could I just have a bad relay or would it more likely be something that is not triggering the relay

Does the Yellow Sequence (P) relay activate when you hit all 5 yellow drop targets? If not, look at these switches on the yellow drop target bank. If no obvious problems diagnose with Alligator clip jumper wires.

Thanks howardr that really helped out
One of the switches was not making contact when the drop target was hit
Problem solved thanks again very helpful as this is my first machine that I randomly found
