I traded my whirlwind back to my friend that sold it to me. Was a really fair deal when i bought it, a reasonable deal to give it back (typically we offer games back to each other). But damn, out of all the pins i sold or traded, it may be the only one i wish i still had.

Can / has a 'B tier' game ever become 'A tier'? Post #71 in topic

Posted 9 months ago by mbaumle – in All Pinball ‐ Last reply 111 days ago

They still aren't on par with Funhouse, whirlwind, or even earthshaker. (yes I realize funhouse is WPC) I’d make the comparison to games like Taxi, Cyclone, Space Station, etc. Whirlwind came out 2 years later, and the late 80s were making absolute boundless tech advancements at the time. Still, totally subjective, but I think Robo-War is honestly as good, if not better in many ways, than Earthshaker and Whirlwind. It really is a game almost too good for its own good.

Hard to compare games from the late 1980s to games of the 1990s, but those aforementioned 80B games are solid contenders to a lot of System 11 A-Listers, especially when cost is concerned. They still aren't on par with Funhouse, whirlwind, or even earthshaker. (yes I realize funhouse is WPC)

I'd say contenders include: Stern Star Trek - (Stern Star Trek is to Stern Spiderman what Attack From Mars is to Medieval Madness) Whirlwind Demolition Man Black Knight (1980) Flash (1979) - Compared to all that came before

I know the Hardtop is a great product & the owners are very nice & helpful but this game is a keeper & I'd like it closer to how it was from the factory. I recently did a Mirco Whirlwind PF swap. The quality of the art was fine, but I hope you dont mind dimples. FTR, you will NEVER see a dimple on a Hardtop.

Whirlwind 2.0 just dropped as well. There's also a bunch of games that have "new" code where rules are tweaked, scoring balanced, bugs fixed, etc. @soren is the master of this. He started with: CFTBL Radical Junk Yard Road Show ...but has done more. Here's that thread: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/official-williams-and-bally-software-upgrades I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for, though.

Casually seeking another temporary trade. Especially interested in Batman 66, Swords of Fury, and South Park but hit me up with options if interested. Cant trade the p3 base but have weird al, Heist, and cosmic cart if you have lexi or drained for a module swap. Games in walkout basement with no steps in Crofton Maryland. Have had great temp trade experiences with 3 pinsiders now. P3 - Bond Prem Elvira HOH STTNG Whirlwind Xenon [att=7619598,3428900 caption=""]

What did the update add? So the new update seems to make a few things a bit smoother in the new game. Currently however when playing the original whirlwind game; my game is not playing correctly. For example I started a one player game; I had a great game going at about 12Mil ; then I drained ; all of the sudden I was starting a whole new game and 3 other players were added. So in short, my ball 2 turned into a new 4 player game; and I was back at ball 1 with a zero score.

Posted 10 months ago by trecemaneras – in All modding! ‐ Last reply yesterday

I would like to try putting precision bushings in a classic stern. I just picked up a Stars, and if I thought the bushings in my Whirlwind were worn, the bushings in this game are on a whole other level. Also, the classic stern flipper rebuild kit at pinball life doesn’t come with bushings, so it’s a perfect chance to try them out. @1956pinhead, which style should I order?
