Thanks coyote... which of the 2 choices would you do? Also... I've mentoned in the past about how my TZ color DMD gets glitchy.... especially after its been on for awhile. Mini playfield is NOT two red and yellow. Mini playfield is Red, Orange/Amber, Yellow. And this is why you don't try to color-mate LEDs. You're right, lol. I was in the middle of tearing down my TZ when I saw the pop cap discussion. When I looked at the caps and play field they looked like they were both red. Orange and amber are 2 different colors guys. The pop caps and the lightning inserts are red, amber and yellow. I realized that I've had several Pat Lawlor games and not looked for the Red button. To date I've owned: TZ, Whirlwind, Banzai Run, Safe Cracker. In Funhouse, it's the classic button on a stick. If I didn't know any better, I'd say the yellow on the printing of the main cab was jacked up- looks like there's not enough yellow I'd say you're dead on. Looks like it needs about 15-20% more yellow. My original TZ cab's red on the side is definitely red and not pink.

TZ shooter spring is much stronger than the one in TH. Does JJP have their own shooter springs? Or do they use the standard B/W color code? TZ uses a brown one, that's the lowest possible tension. As far as I remember it's: Brown (lowest tension) -> White (medium low) -> Green (medium) -> Silver (medium high) -> Blue (high) -> Red (very high) Just use the next stronger one...

I too have a small gumball machine... it's red just like the one in translight on TZ. I actually have it about 2/3's full of old pinballs. It's mounted on the wall next to TZ. I toss out extra old balls in the re-cycle bin.

Any idea what the value would be of a TZ like this. Bone stock. Mint playfield and mini playfield. 1 or 2 cracked plastics. Cabinet is extremely nice. Looks like the lack on the head was touched up slightly. Reds are red. Not recognizing power ball. One spot target bracket is bent and needs to be replaced. Game has 5v reset issue. Hitting both flippers always resets the machine. Not filthy, but its been a few years since shopped. Rubber is dirty/worn/hard.

Nope, no cover or holes for a cover. Looks like another difference with your early machine. What is that yellow plastic under it? I have red. Huh. Well, never would have guessed, if it wasn't for buying a new ramp. Thanks! That yellow plastic belongs to a Nudge-It. The ramp is out of the TZ. :) Mine's red over the lock and that whiteblue outline map in the upper right corner.

Exiting! Hunting for a TZ :) Look for burn-marks around the magnets. (better is the absence, off course ;) ) Planking on the mini-playfield. Decals, are the red-purple radiants washed out. Wear in front of the slot VUK See if the powerball is recognized, coming out of the through and going through the subway ramp. Worth checking ;)

it's not just mirco that's pink. I've restored at least 15 TZ's over the years, and there are probably 5 different shades of red on the playfield. Not from fading either, because the areas under posts were the same color. It is variable. Game looks great. But at that price point, you have to be prepared to be ready for the super anal retentive nitpickers. You are asking CQ dollars.

Hello I've been using one for a TZ that occasionally would reset during LITZ due to lowish line voltage at times. I have one of the red hundred-ish buck cheapies TDGK-2k for a few years but it is starting to fail, it's output just cuts out randomly so I'm done with that one, lost all trust. It's clear quality is worth some extra bucks. I plan to run only TZ on this and hopefully keep it under $300.00. Prefer new to used if possible. Thanks greatly in advance.

I got 8 pinball machines and had to clean this RED DUST from all the pinball glass...........turns out it was the operators BRAINS, he was shot in the head and robbed of a bag of Quarters 10 years earlier. The family wanted nothing to do with the games and would not even go into the shed , it brought back to many bad memories for them . Hi all, Just have a question, I am trying to airbrush a TZ mini playfield. The circles that are Red and White where it says "FLIP HERE" with Createx Opaque Red. But when I spray it over the letters, it does not cover them, I have to spay so many coats that it gets too thick. Should I spay white first, then Red? Any suggestion?

I figured it was by choice. The left lane guide is red, the outlane posts were swapped with red ones, the slot target is blue, plus all the colored posts. Lots of changes! Correct! I was never a fan of the yellow targets and such. So, this time I went crazy with my modifications. My TZ will have a darker look to it when finished. I used red star posts and red lane guide on the lower playfield, but will use dark blue star posts on the mini playfield. Moire to come! ;-)

I got my TZ beat up and reimported. Half the incandescent bulbs did not work. Now it's has full LEDs, including back lighting. I don't want to play any dark TZ again,especially when I see one in the wild, I don't even bother because I know I can't see the back left flipper. Playing my TZ. All of a sudden the left upper white flasher (of the blue/red/white gumball trio) came on at the beginning of a game and stays on. Turned the game off and on several times but it lights and stays on as soon as the game switch is powered. Afraid to leave it on for long because that bulb got very hot. Any ideas where to start? It's the only flasher that appears to be malfunctioning.

Am I the only one who thinks the game looks beautiful with the exception of those axe plastics sticking out of the slingshots? I REALLY hope those get a makeover or are removed completely. Looks like a Fisher-Price steering wheel on a Ferrari. Yea I agree..who the hell agreed to those 1980 horror movie axes!?!? I feel the dragon could have been more interactive as well..maybe spitting out red fire balls like the power ball in TZ!

When path SW4 is used, Q12 is connected to R37/C2 and J5-1 All 3 machines with a 9th Column in switch matrix are connected to J5-1 (see Rottendog SW4 in/out: IJ - ST - TZ ) red circle Q12 grn circle SW4/PW3 blu cirlcle R37/C2 orn circle J5-1 pnk circle sol#44 when jumper is PW3 on original board.
