The worst news ever, Homepin have Blues Brothers Post #13 in topic

Would be really cool if they sell version of this game with blank playfields and plastics, would really consider buying one Have you played Thunderbirds or Spinal Tap? I wouldn’t buy either of them if they were open source or had a blank playfield. I wouldn’t even have one for free.

Let's hope that Home Pin has greatly improved as Blues Brothers is an iconic IP. If you see any signs of this, please share. I played both Thunderbirds and Spinal Tap back to back recently. Unbelievably bad, especially Spinal Tap. There's a ramp that appears so unmakeable from either flipper that they're adding an entire extra flipper. Who does that???

ok so if I told you Thunderbirds and Spinal Tap were open source what is your reaction? Exactly. No software can fix those two shockers - so why would this be any different? I hope this doesn't happen but if it does I really hope it tanks hard and homepin gets the message that they can't make games and should stop trying.

yeah they are making an open source pinball machine - what ever the hell that means. One of the best IP's that could have been Pinball Gold is about to get the hometurd treatment. This was high on my themes I wanted to see and after they totally butchered thunderbirds and spinal tap I'm pretty pissed off.

Worst Pinball Game Ever? Post #508 in topic

According to my very scientific ratings system (TM), the worst pin of all time is The Jetsons. Unlike Thunderbirds, which is so bad it’s good, and Junkyard, which at least has one interesting toy, The Jetsons plays like it tried to be good and failed spectacularly.

Here is a different take. Isn't Williams still in business? Making slot machines. Maybe my info is dated. Now known as Light & Wonder in Las Vegas. Wiki says it still owns WMS and Bally. Another take: Look at what that Chinese company did with Thunderbirds. And by all accounts, it was a flop. Where is that company now? With the current economy on the downside and wars popping up monthly, is this a good time to start a new business on disposable income?

Is lowering the cost back to 4-5K or offering newer themes really enough to keep this hobby from running off the rails someday? A company/factory can't survive on 4-5k games. It's impossible. It couldn't work in 2010 when Stern almost went out of business. Factories are expensive. Employees are expensive. Parts are expensive. You wan't a $5k game? You get Thunderbirds from China. Have fun lol

Kudos to Homepin Mike. The target consumer he described does exist. The booger-eating crowd? Yeah, Thunderbirds is a pinball that will pass the time for kids, but why not put them in front of a GOOD pin or a series of them to tune their tastelevel? After comparing it to a few actually fun pins, they'll understand the issues.

Recently tried to sell / trade a pin. OMG everyone with a Toy Story came out of woodworks. Many had very fair offers. Let's just say one of the offers was tempting a CE at 7500. I Sh!t you not and I passed with no regrets. Honestly you could have made a couple grand on that deal, this game gets it's fair share of knocks but it's not Thunderbirds.

That feeling when you buy a game and you are going to take the legs off. Someone hands you a 16 mm socket wrench and you go "oh no, it's got to be this 5/8 inch or we will ruin the bolt"... You should definitely buy a Homepin Spinal Tap or Thunderbirds. They use metric leg bolts. Of course, the downside is you'll have to buy a Homepin. But problem solved!

What is the worst pinball machine you have ever owned? Post #182 in topic

It's funny, reading the posts here really drives home the "one man's trash is another man's treasure" saying. I agree with many but a few of them just make me scratch my head. I guess part of it is a good game with many mechanical and electrical issues that make it no fun to play versus a genuinely bad layout (Thunderbirds, I'm talking to you). One game I really wanted to like but just couldn't was Vector. Beautiful game but just lacking in... something critical to fun.

Agree 100%. Once production ends, Fathom Mermaids will dry up and the price will go up. I remember people griping about the costs of MMRoyal, Heighway Alien, POTC too while they were in production....then when they dried up and people figured out how rare they actually were, the prices went nuts. Who is pining for Thunderbirds? Cosmic Carnival? Mafia? Rarity doesn't equal desirability. It's no guarantee of value increasing.

Played it a couple more times a few months later hoping to see i missed something and realized Gottlieb street games are more fun. I'm just glad somebody likes it. Still waiting to feel the #thunderbirds experience.
