I'll check back in when I've had a chance to tear everything down now that I know what I'm looking for. Whole process should take less than an hour, Super-Flite is not that complicated of a machine. Reset issue - Williams EM ‘super flite’ Post #1 in topic

Posted 186 days ago by Omega73 – in EM Pinball Tech ‐ Last reply 186 days ago

Hi I’ve got my Super-Flite pretty much running okay and it’s been playing great for weeks. However over the last couple of days if had an issue where mid game, either one or two player it will intermittently do a complete reset. All the score reels go back to zero and back to ball one. I think it occurs when it’s being most ‘violent’, multiple jet bumper firings. Any ideas when I should start looking, I guess there is a switch that is a bit too close? Cheers Matt

'High-Tap' - Bad Idea? Post #1 in topic

Posted 9 months ago by Omega73 – in EM Pinball Tech ‐ Last reply 9 months ago

Hi I recently installed a switch to allow me to toggle my Williams Super-Flite transformer to the 'high-tap' setting. I'm really enjoying playing with the 'extra' couple of volts on the kickers, flippers and pop bumpers. It makes this already quick pin even better in my opinion. But is it a good idea to run a 50 year old EM in this configuration when there is no need for it due to low line voltages? Am I setting myself up for a catastrophic failure!! Cheers, Matt

Same here. Some times getting the gates open consistently then other times only getting 500 points out of the top goody hole. My Super-Flite still holds its own not only in my eyes, and flipper button fingers, but with guests. It sits between Simpson's Pinball Party and Attack From Mars remake LE and gets just as much action. It's fast but approachable. Hard to get the special but easy to figure out. Definitely a great machine!

I was pleasantly surprised with how well the cabinet cleaned up on this Super-Flite. Probably one of the nicest originals that I have seen. For the people that say EMs are slow I would suggest 1974 Wms Super-Flite or its 4 player cousin Strato-Flite. Its been in my house since 1978 and will not be leaving. In my collection its the easiest game to understand but probably the hardest to win a replay and definitely fast.
