Do you have a generator or emergency power source? Post #106 in topic

Posted 133 days ago by mbwalker – in Tech: Generic ‐ Last reply 132 days ago

Mine hasn't got much use. 46 hours in 11 years. And that's with loaning it to a friend because my power came on before his. Ours probably has less than that. One time it ran a good chunk of the day when a limb took out some lines. But we're out in the boonies, so when something does happen, we're definitely not first in line. More of an insurance policy and piece of mind than anything else. Biggest concern is probably an ice storm taking down lines over a wide spread area.

Good stuff everybody. How has lifespan been for the generac types on natural gas? Is the 10yr estimate accurate? I can’t see needing that much power but seems easiest option if I’m not around. It would be typical that 9yrs in of generator ownership, epic storm- no power for days and generator gives you those error codes.

That's not bad, I'm talking about a full-on closed fist BANG on the glass itself. Jarring to nearby players. Yeah a closed fist on the class is not cool. Neither is a leg kick or tilting the machine out like its a pirate ship weathering a perfect storm. Theres a guy who plays with us once in a while, hes pretty highly ranked in IL who is notorious for that. The rule I live by, no matter how mad I get, is I never do anything to somebody else's games that I would not appreciate having done to mine.

This game always calls me back. Even after getting other new and exciting pins along the way, I'm back to pressing the start button on Pirates within a week. It could only have been made during that window of time when the design philosophy was still 'more is more'. The mechs make it a standout, but the audio, lighting, artwork, and shot variety all help create a perfect storm that keeps me thinking about it even when I am not playing. I'll keep this game for as long as I am collecting pins.

Hey there, I am building my ultimate gameroom, I am filming all phases of the build come and watch as it all comes together! Nice job, you need to consider banks of switches to turn on/off pinball machines. You’ll wan the machines completely off circuit when a storm rolls through. Also consider a whole home surge protection device that can be installed in your electrical box; this eliminates the need for surge protectors to be used for individual machines. Do you have a build thread ?

So nothing out of the ordinary of a winter storm other than the fact that it was in august and the temp was in the high 70s. Growing up in L.A., we occasionally have summer thunderstorms. I can’t remember a summer storm that lasted more than an hour or so. This was an all day affair as far as rain goes, but the wind, which I was more worried about, is still relatively minor.

It kind of says something when some rain gets us in Cali worried lol I was expecting a lot more of a storm because people were really hyping this up. I once drove through Oregon and I shit you not it was raining cats and dogs the entire time and people in Oregon were treating it like it was a normal day. Traffic pretty much crawls to a halt in Cali when it rains hard.

I am on the East Coast, but the hyperbolic language, is typical of media and government types. The predictions of a catastrophic storm season for 2023 have yet to bear fruit, so any weather event that occurs, will garner max attention.

The recent storm we had, blew many leaves in our Bowie community pool behind the mansion. The life guards had a great device that worked from a garden hose to blow leaves on the bottom into a net.
