I contacted Stern since mine is obviously cracked on one side. Pinball Life has the part listed as #535-1417-02 but I can only put it on my wishlist, can't buy it. Yeah I took a second look at mine today and it looks like it's also split at the seam. I emailed Stern as well, so we'll see.

I'll be working on Fusion 360 models of the inlane guides this week. I did them once in Sketchup but the conversion to get them to a dxf file did something funky when the CNC cut the stainless. Fusion 360 should solve that issue. I remember an operator back in the early 1980's trying to order the metal ball guides that were used on Stern's Split Second as a repair for Fight 2000. He freaked out over the cost to order the part... told the distributor at that time to shove it.

MPF shows my game's splash screen in-between balls for a split second (it shouldn't), I am thinking it's re-initializing comms when this happens. What's also weird is if I restart MPF after I lose comms then it's unable to communicate with the APC until I power cycle it. It's completely out to lunch. [att=5555874,1935940 caption=""]

I would have to think about how to implement multiple extra balls. There's some unintended consequences of doing this as you have to be able to handle odd situations and still maintain the shoot again lamp - that's why Split Second has the 'endless' extra ball bug, the add-a-ball isn't handled properly. (And apparently the Lazer Lord prototype has the same thing in reverse, the extra ball doesn't stack at all, and turns off at the next score event after you earn it....)

Posted 105 days ago by 85vett – in Playing tips ‐ Last reply 103 days ago

Yes, it's just an on and off switch. Difference is in your head. Pushing a button harder wont give it more power as a leaf switch doesn't know the difference between hard and soft. Once the path is closed its closed. The only difference is barely making contact for a split second for a tap pass or fluttering the flipper. That's just turning the coil on and off faster. It's not doing that because you pushed it softer, just because the coil was only engaged for so long.

Yes, the circuit is fused at a higher value than a single header pin can carry. These pins are already connected together at the header. I thought that might be the case. Just redid these pins and added a Y split to add the second pin. Ugly join, but it works. I really wish there was a simpler way of doing these pins.

That glitch screen should be your new Total Score, then go onto the next players ball. Also would be great if instant info showed how many ghosts you have.

Royal Flush (76) won’t tilt. Post #1 in topic

Posted 6 months ago by newovad – in EM Pinball Tech ‐ Last reply 186 days ago

When I got this Royal Flush, it came without a tilt bob connected. Everything is there but it is not quite working. The roll tilt works but the bob tilt doesn’t tilt the game when it hits the sides. You can see a quick spark and hear the tilt relay fire but the game keeps going. If you put the bob against the ring for a split second longer than a typical hit, the game tilts like it should. I’m at a loss. Thoughts?[att=5242168,1755159 caption=""]

Has anyone had any luck customizing the ROM for the new Jurassic Park? I tried swapping out some sound clips but the firmware update kept failing about halfway though. One thing I notice is that the official rom files from Stern are split into 2 files (first is 2,000,000,000 bytes, second is 333,163,520 bytes), but pinball browser says packing is not necessary since the total size is < 4 GB. Looks like maybe JP uses a different chunk size than previous titles?

Flippers ‟Bounce” when Trying to Live Catch Post #7 in topic

Posted 8 months ago by pcprogrammer – in All Pinball ‐ Last reply 8 months ago

Instead of starting a new a new thread I'll just revive a 4 year old one! Having this exact same issue with my MET Pro. Just had both Q15 and Q16 transistors replaced by someone that does board repair. My flippers are strong, and appear to work fine but if they are held in the upward position then the ball will bounce back off of them, like they get energized for a split second. It's not just when the ball is rolling fast, it is any speed. Any ideas appreciated. Thanks.

Ok, got the board back. Works great. Thanks to Chris for fixing it. We went with transistor P40N10L. Next question I have if anyone knows. When the ball hits either flipper when you are holding them up it activates them for a split second and it hits the ball again, even when it is rolling down slow. Do I have to widen the EOS switch gap? Or is there a setting in the menu for that sensitivity? It does it on both flippers but a little more sensitive on the left one.

When you shoot the windlance at full power, where should the ball end up? Mine makes it close to the upper flipper at full power so I'm guessing I need to increase the coil number It should go a little past the upper flipper so you have a split second to prepare while it rolls down and you can make a precise shot
