Space Station is really fun and looks great next to Space Shuttle. If I had to sell all my games, Space Station would be the last one to go. It has a fun feature I haven't seen on other games -- Bonus Ball. If you earn the bonus ball, it is a timed ball you get at the end of the game -- doesn't matter if it drains, you keep playing until the time runs out. If you're close to scoring a replay, the bonus ball can make the difference.

Space Station Pop Bumper Post #1 in topic

The bottom pop bumper didn't work on my space station. However, if I went into test mode it would work, so I simply purchased a new switch stack for it. As I was replacing the switch stack, three short yellow wires fell to the bottom of the cabinet. Obviously, I had some weak solder joints. I am assuming it's a daisy chain between the 3 pops, but which lug of each switch stack do they belong. Thank you.

The drops are a callback to Space Shuttle, placed where they are to entice / reward a sweep shot as Shuttle made famous. It's trickier on Station for some reason, but always awesome when you do ... is coded to support drops if you put them in? But unlike Firepower, I don't think Station was ever prototyped that way... so probably not.

I am getting rejects from the rear saucer constantly. I’ll finally make that satisfying shot in the Nick of time, and boom! Rejected!! Anyone have a fix? Space station for me was what caused me to begin my love of pinball, those unique sound effects, music and mysterious call outs and that oh so crazy effects Williams did with the displays! Ss taught me how to handle the pinball better than any other machine because of those crazy positioned slings.

Bally Heavy Metal Meltdown Inserts Post #2 in topic

Posted 14 months ago by Xenon75 – in Playfield restoration ‐ Last reply 14 months ago

Well the picture taken from the international space station doesn't really show which inserts are worn - but it is not too difficult to scan and create new on clear decal paper printed via laser printer. If the wording on the insert is in color or the letters are white, then you have to find a color laser printer or the special printer that can print white.

Sold my space station several years ago and regretted it ever since. If anyone near Ohio wants to sell or trade yours please keep me in mind. Love that game! Space Station was my first game. It was given to me by my best friends widow after I helped her out. It needed lots of work, but earned me a "best restore" prize at a pin-fest. I have to thank her for finding yet another hobby which cost me tens of thousands of dollars. RIP K-man.

Could anyone please do a little test for me? Confirm that solenoid 10 - green gi is not pulsing in coil test. Please depress auto up/manuel down so it does not cycle through all coils. go to sol 10 and notice if the relay (and green gi) is pulsing or are on until you go to sol 11. Sorcerer and Tri-Zone are the only ones left for me (out of the SS era), and Tri-Zone only because I got it dirt cheap and it's good to take to shows. I did keep Space Station around a few years though. Great light show. Forgot I had one on loan for a few months, aside from the lighting which was cool, did nothing much for me. I thought the layout was cool but it just never clicked. Added: Referring to Space Station.

Have an oddball issue on my Space Station. When a ball is docked to the right and then the lower pop bumper is activated it kicks the locked ball out. In switch test all of the associated switches register fine separately so it doesn't seem to be an issue of the pop bumper activating a sensitive switch. It's very consistent and only the lower pop bumper that does it when a ball is locked to the right. Sounds to me like something on the board but having trouble tracing where to look. Any ideas?
