What are people doing for the stern dmd era drop height adjustment Post #1 in topic

Posted 7 days ago by northvibe – in Tech: DMD era games ‐ Last reply 7 days ago

went to work on the sopranos on route, the height adjustment bracket for the single drop target was kind of mangled. The part # 5, 535-7709-01 , is discontinued at Marco. Are people just bending their own new one, and using a tap to thread the hole for the adjustment screw? I didn't look too close as it is...."useable" at the moment but no real adjustment ever again. So I'm under the assumption I would need to bend and fab a metal piece. [att=8133716,3863716 caption=""][att=8133716,3863717 caption=""]

Anyone do anything to make the game harder for route? I’ll open the outlanes but this plays like sopranos and on route it is “fine” but when we run league or tournaments I leave sopranos out because the ball times on good players is stupid long. Don’t know if there were a few little tweaks people found work good for route. I’ve noticed more balls drain out the left so the right post could be removed….?

Someone mentioned Fallout earlier. Excellent idea, especially with the new streaming series on Prime now out. It would be funny, appeal to Millennials and Gen-X alike, and there's lots of material to work with. It would appeal to boomers too, I guess, if they included the 40s and 50s music, though I'm not sure how you make that work with a pin. GTA would be good too. Both may be too "adult" for Stern, but they did do Sopranos.

Stern Godzilla Premium: High Score Memory? Post #1 in topic

Posted 125 days ago by Optionstrader1 – in Tech: Generic ‐ Last reply 125 days ago

Hi guys, newbie here to Pinside and just received my Godzilla Premium yesterday. My question is when I shut off the machine most of my high scores go away and reset to the defaults. Is this by design? In my Sopranos machine I know there is a battery behind the back glass that maintains the memory and saves scores. Thanks for your help. Joe

Why no Saw pin? Post #34 in topic

Posted 133 days ago by trilogybeer – in All Pinball ‐ Last reply 40 days ago

Sopranos has “fucking bigpoint mode” where every switch hit says fuck/fucking/shit and a major toy on the game is strippers on dance poles. It’s r rated. Stranger Things has “bullshit” mode as a pg-13 version Yeah first time I ever got that mode on Sopranos I was laughing so hard I could barely play the game. Still get a kick out of every time. Rick and Morty has something similar the nc17 dimension, every switch hit is one of the swearing callouts in the game. Fantastic!

Until Spooky's recent release, I would've said: when was the last time you saw a rated "R" pin? Saw is way too bloody for mass appeal. Although, I wouldn't be surprised if a homebrewer was working on the title. There's quite a wide spread of projects these days. Stern did playboy and sopranos, I suppose those could be considered "R" rated

There's one in Stamford up on ebay. I'm sure if you talk to him directly he would lower the price since no fees. I've bought from him before and used him for repairs. If you want his number feel free to PM me. 10K is pretty steep for a Sopranos but thank you anyway

Didn’t bring it home, but brought it to work. A really nice Getaway to go with the Sopranos machine for people to play. Will take it home eventually but for now giving people some variety at work [att=7905111,3677597 caption=""][att=7905111,3677596 caption=""][att=7905111,3677599 caption=""][att=7905111,3677598 caption=""]

Ball trough test not started Post #1 in topic

Posted 146 days ago by dry34 – in Tech: LCD era games ‐ Last reply 146 days ago

I have some problems with my Sopranos pinball, ball save and lock are not working properly. I wanted to start a test, but the ball trough test (clb) does not start. The coin door is closed, I press the start button to release the ball, but it does nothing, only the sound of the button being pressed comes from the speaker. What could be the problem? I would like to add that it's the first time I've played the Sopranos pin. The two games I had on it were very fun. Didn't think I would like it ... at all. I'll be back to play it for sure I find Sopranos to be a very 'you like it or you don't' type game. Especially when the Safe ... for the bank robbery(if i recall) isn't working properly. when you have a properly tuned sopranos though it is a real treat to play. Looks awesome. And lol at the DDR megamix ...
