After my first week, I think 10-15 people individually asked me “what made you think coming here was a good idea?” I replied... “I like pinball” I like SLC - got friends at University of Utah, seems a good place. And not too far away from good ski resorts. I used to go to a conference organized in Snowbird every April... before Covid.

Pulp Fiction Post #4 in topic

Posted over 2 years ago by DCFAN – in Homebrew pinball ‐ Last reply over 2 years ago

My wife and I are dreaming of retirement (still a ways off) and have been looking at places near Tampa (Treasure Island). One of these had a pic with a pinball, and what appears to be a multicade. Both Pulp Fiction. Does anyone know if this was a home brew by someone, or just skinned.[quoted image] Nice area. My wife and I likely will retire in Clearwater within the next 5 to 10 years. I am not sure if we would keep a place where we are now and snowbird or not.

Although my main home is in NJ, I'm a partial Snowbird and have a home in Florida. I have inquired about games for purchase in the Tampa, Orlando and Jacksonville areas on many occasions and therefore know that there are frequent sellers there on Pinside, ebay and Craigslist. Let's focus and start a "For Sale" topic for Central and Northern Floridians....

Snowbird LE Abra Ca Dabra. Iso Transformer is big black thing against back wall of cab you can see in one pic. All kinds of explanations about why these were required (but only in Ontario). Nice game, happy to have. Love my big flipper wedgies! [att=1756915,385540] [att=1756915,385541] [att=1756915,385543]

Currently own an Abra Ca Dabra in the elusive "Snowbird LE" edition... a Canadian game which migrated south to Florida. Stamped "Canada" on bottom board and comes complete with bonus isolation transformer and Ontario Hydro sticker on it. Great game which I can play super one game then next game kicks my ass. Makes you keep coming back. PF & glass in great shape, cab is liveable, though may get re-done soon. Just enjoying my EM resurgence lately.

I to played that game at snowbird in the iron blossom lodge over thanksgiving week. It was somewhat working but DMD was shot then and I didn't have to lift game. I guess I should consider myself lucky. In general game was beat up. My family and I have been owners at iron blossom since 1994 ....killer skiing.

That Banzai is definitely one of a kind (compliment). Did you design the color scheme? Is that the NOS playfield from the snowbird-guy in Florida back a couple of years ago? How do you like the gun handles, and how did you come up with that idea? Did you have a DM that was parted out? The mirrored black side rails and lockdown bar are a very different look for a system 11 machine. GLWS

Cheapest place to play? Nickel Mania in Salt Lake City, UT Post #1 in topic

Posted over 10 years ago by jayhawkai – in Locations to play ‐ Last reply over 8 years ago

$1 entry fee (with coupon). All pins are $.15 per play and most are well maintained. http://pinside.com/pinball/map/where-to-play/nickelmania-murray-332-murray-ut-united-states I snapped this blurry pic of the lineup. There are tons of arcade games to keep the non-pinheads entertained. Good thing this place exists because the snow sucks here. Alta and Snowbird weren't much better than Colorado a couple weeks ago.
