  Nice work. They were a neat piece of history for sure, but as you've figured out, very prone to breaking. I still have some parts and some complete Switch Flipper bat assemblies, but I've sold most of them over the years. I have some cobbled-together early ones on the Slapshot prototype here in the museum. Pretty neat. Anyway, please keep us posted on how these hold up!

  How many hockey pucks have you taken to the head? Over the years? 13 stiches to the chin from a slapshot that sent my mask flying, dislocated my jaw and knocked me out cold( any of you older hockey fans, it was Jerry 'King Kong' Korab's nephew, Joe Korab that did it). 8 stiches over the right eye. Right kneecap dislocated from a slapshot and knocked out cold with a goalie cup cracked in half from the hardest slapshot I ever faced right to the family jewels. Those are the ones I can recollect at this time.

  Found a new spot today, Purchase St Records in New Bedford, MA. Prices were on the higher side, but the selection was amazing if you are into metal/hard rock. My kids saw a Judas Priest 45 and asked if Rob Halford was Walter White. I wish I took a pic, it looked just like him. If you weren't into local (MA) hardcore in the 90's you probably have no idea who Slapshot is, great album. [att=7363461,3216569 caption=""]

  From what I’m reading, a lot of people think it might be this freak heart accident that it like a one in a million shot. It has happened several times in the NHL. Chris Pronger took a slapshot near his chest. Played a few more seconds, started skating to the bench and then collapsed. Pretty sure it has happened in baseball as well.

  LOL. That game is nowhere near clunky. LOL. POTC has one of my favorite, smoothest - most satisfying (and variable) shots in pinball: drilling a ball into the open chest with a hard slapshot from the right flipper -OR- finessing it into the chest (past the upper Bayou flipper with just enough power) with a backhand from the left flipper. The chest lid then closing in acknowledgement afterwards is tasty icing on the cake! :-)

  You're welcome. And yes, the Gottlieb family were a big thing in the area. The hospital was founded by David Gottlieb in '61. Got any pictures of the Slapshot I can't find anything on that one.

  Mine is definitely the chest ball lock shot in Pirates. So satisfying - ala a wicked hockey slapshot - to drill it via the right flipper! And the finessing required in a just so right - accurately aimed and barely enough power - left flipper backhand shot is addictively good! Up the forks and a smooth 180 into the chest!   HEY BLITZBURG !!!! You ain’t tellin no lies my brotha - I’ve had all the other tables - Shelti slapshot which is same as the ESPN one and others - the Carrom signature stick which is in my opinion the only other one even remotely similar- but nah people there’s a reason why it’s the $$$ you pay it’s a one in a million once in a life time thing .... I’ve asked the people at ICE and since 1983 they have made 30,000 of these .... so yeah they are something....

  Well I brought home an Afmle on Saturday and I got as far as I could with having a friend come over. Then I thought hey why not take it apart and take it downstairs in pieces. So it took a little longer but better than phoning a friend.   Getting this out of that nook, up 12 steps sideways out of a basement and into my car by myself was really fun. And picked up another goodie in the box.   Wow, I had never heard of this before!! Saw it at the Tacoma, WA show a few years back. Slapshot is a cult classic in this part of the world and I'm a hockey fan so when one came up around here I got it. Only time I saw one pop up around here ever since I've been into pinball.

  Thinking about listing a project rbion for 2800. DMD is good, pf is nice, two plastics have lost their artwork, sound works, tests showed coils working but hv coils were weak, switches appeared to be working although I did not do a thorough test, lamp matrix appeared good, bottom of cabinet replaced, few scuffs but cab isn't bad.   I wonder what time frame this was created. Data east created a hockey themed redemption game called slapshot. Might have been legal reasons it was never built past the prototype stage.

  Unless you have a second favorite team, I don't thing there is anything wrong with going with home and away jerseys. My personal preference is to also avoid using current teams since it instantly starts dating the machine. The exception to that would be recreating a specific game / series. So if you wanted to replicate one of the recent Stanley Cup games I think that could be pretty cool. Other then that go with no-names or all time greats. I'd love to see someone do Cheifs vs Bulldogs from Slapshot.

  Hi Tommy, Currently, the only proto unreleased game here is Dual-Pool. I was saying that I have been trying to get the others. No luck on those 2 just yet. :-( All that being said, this Spring I am hoping to bring home a previously unknown Alvin G proto called Slapshot. Another friend owns that one. It was never completed, but I'm really excited to get that thing here and clean it up.... just have to find time to make it happen.

  Josh, You'll love Slapshot, especially the Hanson Brothers. Damn double posts. Was trying to upload a picture of them, apparently it's harder than just browing your harddrive and then hitting the upload button.

  Oh Sh!T! Netflix streaming has Slapshot.. and slapshot 2 and slapshot 3.. wow. Anyways, I know what I'll be donig at work tonight!

  slapshot, I went to napaonline.com typed in Purple Power in the search and came up with a bunch of size options. With that said, it's a chemical agent so you need to buy it in store. They cannot ship this stuff.

  If we're throwing out suggestions, they need to do a hockey themed pin some justice (since all others suck arse). There really should be a Slapshot movie pin...Hanson Brothers three ball multiball, harass Handrahan (orbit shots to with samples from movie "she's a lesbian", etc from that scene). C'mon man, that's pin gold! Haha :D
