DC pops are more powerful. The regular AC pops can do that for a while, more so when the game is high tapped. I see similar behavior in our Williams Skylab, if you get the ball in the right spot. Those are DC coils as well. You could try larger rings to get less bounce, but that changes your chances of saving the ball from draining as well. Just my two cents based on the behaviors I’ve seen on two games that I’ve rehabbed. Good luck, Dave

Cab is solid, but somebody put some fiberglass on the bottom and moved the toggle switch inside the coin door. Obviously can be undone. Playfield is in pretty great shape, no broken plastics. At least Williams was smart enough to realize that the red flipper rubber on red flippers looked ugly and changed it on Stratoflite. On Skylab and SpaceLab it’s red. The yellow looks way better. I’m going to experiment with turquoise or purple on my two spacelab conversions that I’m doing when I get to that point. Sorry purists.

OK, Not really an EM part but..... I'm putting new rings on my newly acquired Skylab. Williams used some odd sizes, most of which I can get by with by using a "close enough" replacement. However, one size I need is 2-5/16" I don't see a 2-1/4 on Steve's site, just 2 or 2-1/2. I guess 2-1/2 is closest. Do you think that would be too large? The real issue is that the machine calls for a 6" ring, which I don't see on the usual sites. Does anyone know if / where they can be had? Thanks

Not surprised at all. I know times are tough, but I find it real hard to feel sorry for this guy. Couldn't he auction off that super rare skylab, spacelab thing he has? That should set him up for a while. E

Holy shit where did you find that amazing rare piece that all in the hobby are clamoring to own and show off as the crown jewel of their collections?!?! That thing might be worth hundreds of dollars! I saw your prior “Skylab” posts, all overwhelmingly positive. Judging by the game pricing on your website, I’d say it’s probably worth a few grand.

Meter Madness Again! This was a timely video, as my Williams Skylab play meter is stuck. I got it apart and everything looked good, but it was jamming occasionally. I took your advice and avoided putting any lubricant on the metal actuator parts. Hopefully the cleaning I did with alcohol did the trick. Thanks Ken. Dave

While restoring a Skylab I took apart the chimes to clean them and found everything in that part of the pinball covered in metal dust. One of the plungers has lost its nylon cap and had been striking the chime bar metal on metal. I’m amazed at the damage it caused. Alberto[att=5444002,1873838 caption=""]

Extra scoring mod Post #7 in topic

Posted over 3 years ago by TheLaw – in EM Pinball Hangout ‐ Last reply over 3 years ago

Random thoughts - The real issue is what are the scoring options going to be and how does that affect balance. With Jubilee/Skylab all the points are in the bonus. So are the new targets going increase the bonii and max out too quick, Or will they be added points that don't really matter in the grand scheme of things becasue they don't change bonus? Maybe a spinner that's tied to the 300 score saucers would make it worth it...but I don;t know.
