... . It is missing the cash box door. I made a mistake, it is not a "Signal" . It is a "Skipper" . The payout assembly and all wiring looks complete. I know the nonpayout version of this game ... the background color of the playfield on the Bumper is off white and on the Skipper it is silver. I'm sure the mech would need to be cleaned and adjusted. But the ...

Hi Miguel, You are correct. I messed up. It is a Bally "Skipper". Bally made two versions of this game. The Skipper was a payout game with two count wheels in the head glass. The "Bumper" had one wheel in the head and was not a payout game. He actually had both a Signal and the Skipper. Not sure how I screwed up and got the wrong name to the correct game. Thanks for letting me know. Do you have any idea of the value of this game? I'm still interested in this game. I like the old look of the game. Steve

thats it. looks like the ball is hitting the "roof" or apron. dont see any slots on the mounting screws of the kicker assy to adjust it though?? Also this happens (a common occurrence with Gottliebs) when there is too much slop in the kicker armature plates. My Lucky Hand was launching the ball up into the apron 60% of the time until I was able to tighten them up. Not sure if ‘Skipper’ has the same outhole kicker design.

Searched for part number A-12176 but could not find. The part number gives you a clue to what game it is. Gottlieb assigned part numbers in chronological order and the parts catalogs list the parts in chronological order in the back. A-12176 first appeared in the 1970 parts catalog which implies that the plastic was used in a game in '69 or '70. I pulled up photos of Skipper and others but clearly I don't have the attention to detail that @runbikeskilee does. Nice find.

It should trigger the top left bumper after kickout. 1. Adjust pop bumper spoon switcher to be more sensitive 2. check left to right angle set up 3. make sure kick out arm is not bent and ball sits in saucer properly or bend slightly to kick it more right can't think of anything else Good luck SKIPPER!

Posted over 5 years ago by OLDPINGUY – in Buying and selling advice ‐ Last reply over 5 years ago

Ive done it 3 times. A small collection when I moved in 1973, In 1988, around 30 pre war games, and 8 EMs. Airway, skyride, jigger, Skipper.... and in 2000, when my health went south and my tech died....ICB for $300, TOTAN for $2K, kinda days, around 25 pins. So 20 years now...time to start selling the low hanging fruit.

Does Gilligans Island benefit from pinsound? Post #1 in topic

Posted over 5 years ago by d0n – in Bally/Williams ‐ Last reply over 5 years ago

I was playing my gilligan's island last night with another pinball geek and he said something about the game that I hadn't noticed... there is very little voice over call outs. He said he was waiting for the skipper to yell at gilligan or voices from any of the other actors. Does pinsound offer a board for this game that has more sounds from the show and does anyone have a video of the pinsounds during gameplay? thanks!

I have played both F-14 and Centaur and I can confirm that a 4 (or 5!) ball multiball is possible on a single-level pinball layout. F-14 has wireform ramps Skipper...so many that they almost obstruct the entire upper playfield :neener:

Ive kinda grouped them. a dozen or so flipperless, Airway, Skipper, Skyride, Baffle Ball, Jigger, Big Bank Nite. All American football, Pearl Harbor.... All were $50- $150 in the late 70s, early 80s. Then it would be Star Trek, Paragon, Fishtales, Mousin Around, Banzai Run, and many more, all were $500-$1000 Super Auctions Mostly....some $100 Totan, TZ, and others were the expensive stuff, at $1500-$2K

1969 Gottlieb Skipper. That was tough, Skipper is model #279. That number is usually on the edge of the art work, but 12175 or 12191 must be just the playfield plastics part number.

What was the first year Gottlieb used chimes? I prefer them over bells The first year Gtb. used chimes was '70. The last Gtb. Game I remember playing with bells was Mibs, and the first I remember having chimes was mini cycle, but I see chronologically there are 2 games in between them, (Road Race, Skipper), which I never played.
