Galactic Tank Force Owners Club - Get your ice cream here! Post #1468 in topic

Posted today by Method_Own – in All clubs (...members only!) ‐ Last reply today

Enjoying the new code. Getting a methane blaster from the LAB now you have 3 tank targets lit blue which is cool. Shield magnet functions a little differently. Shield defense between the flippers seems more active. Some new call outs. None of the videos cause delays but there still are some with no sound. At the end of the game if I match - I get the ‘You Matched’ sequence twice. Cow-A-Bongo seems to run ok but the music is very quiet. Still more work to be done, but it’s progress!

wait, are people loving BKSOR now? Did the code get really good? I really liked it when it came out, the original theme felt very refreshing, but I never spent a lot of time on it and everyone I know with it sold it within a year. Its a great game that I love. The issue is that once you put alot of time on it you learn that you can shoot the shield and lock cradled from the right flipper with very little risk. Once you figure that out it kind of nerfs the game.

Replacing the shield can be a bit of a chore. You don't have to remove the middle playfield, but you do have to remove some screws that allow you lift the playfield allowing you to easily access the nylock nuts. If you have small hands, you might be able to access those nylock nuts without having to raise up that middle playfield. A simple mod I may do if no one else does, is a simple 3D printer light shield that covers the super bright LED's on the main board. Would need 2 - one for each set of LED's. Translights have definitely got thinner! On the plus side, the metal ramps on the pro are fantastic, so much better than plastic. They make the shots a joy to hit :-)[att=8099708,3833253 caption=""]

So close but a modern stern does NOT fit in the Rivian R1S with a simple folded backbox. You could probably jam it in there if you didn't care about the ceiling fabric, and took off the power shield. The fold down tailgate also makes it impossible to "up and under" the high water mark. Maybe the R2's single piece rear door helps here? I buy and collect games I want to play. Rarity really doesn’t have any influence. It’s cool when there’s games I want to play and own that are also rare, like TX-Sector or pinball magic, but that introduces stresses like “how will I rebuild these flippers with zero parts availability” or “what happens if a plastic light shield breaks?” Rare games are also usually rare for a good reason.

I just put a final coat on JJP pirates of the Caribbean #1 there are 2 of them here, and Iron maiden. I believe all of these coats are final coats. with the temp and humidity lately, the coats are looking so perfect. Its hurts to block them down when they look this good! There has not been any pics of the sttng except prep pics. the shield inserts had cracks around them. needed to be glues and painted, as well as like 8 other inserts. I finally got the warp out of it.

Did I miss the pictures of the STTNG? I have one and have an issue with the shield inserts looking like they are delaminating (I'm not sure what to call it). The rest of the pf is still nice.

Nice! Mine was still running 3.0 when I got it. I upgraded to 6.0 after a few months and the score balancing and event randomizations made it play almost like a whole new game (for the better). for me, the drain shield lamp and the skip t-rex diagnostics was the gamechanger, followed close by randomized events and the Last Action Hero preview!

Well to my surprise 3.5 of the pins work at Pop this time. Still dirty AF, but playable. But all new rubbers. Tron works the best (no recognizer shield). SW actually worked this time, but the C and E on force are still broken. X-men worked ok, but the auto launch for MB and the right flippers are super weak. GOTG no right flipper. I’ve had the pro and now the LE and have come to the conclusion that the Black knight and shield is the best mech Stern have ever designed. Unless your shield arm has a groove from the post screw; this prevents the screw from tightening as firm as it should which then causes issues with the shield lifting high enough to allow the ball to roll underneath. Such a PITA thing to deal with. I've been resisting the urge on buying a new assembly.

The newest JJPs have full backglass lighting. Godfather and EJ. One thing to be aware of is that full lighting can introduce glare into the camera. GF and EJ both have a little light shield to prevent this. I'll get a pic and post it here FYI. Oh.. that would be awesome if you can provide that shield. I added the cool white backglass area and it does introduce glare where photos are grainy. Just feel like the photo should be of better quality. Adding the shield could finally settle the conversation for me.
