  If your supernova is like a game plan sharpshooter, the connectors give issues all the time. An experiment is to re-seat all of them then try the game again. It's like herding cats.....these games are a pain to re-pin. In fact, Im in the middle of repinning one now.

  If the DE targets are too high then you didn’t use tall enough spacers. The DE targets are tough. I did that on a SharpShooter with excellent results.

  I made room for 1 more arcade piece, so decided to pull the Bally Marksman out of the barn. I'm 95% they are, but just like to make sure the back legs are the same height as the front (26"). They'd be the same as Bally's Sharpshooter's, and most likely the same as the Midway's Air Compressor Gun Games also.. I took a measurement this morning, and for some reason, years back I made the Midway's Rifle Gallery's rear legs 3/4" taller than the fronts, but I'm pretty certain all 4 should be the same height..

  Interesting find, @o-din (and welcome back!)--this may explain why i was having trouble using LEDs in my buddy's Sharpshooter... I'll be following this thread to see if anything can be done, but unfortunately it may have to do with the way the lamp driver handles lighting the feature lamps...

  I have an old coney island, and I'd love a better, up to date sound card with an SD, or usb slot. New sounds would be so much better. I have the new mpu in mine, and a better lighting card, with LED bulbs in mine, but may look into a solenoid card next so I can put up my old one as a back up. I’m working on an update for my Sharpshooter and once done it would work for Coney Island by changing the WAV files on the WAVtrigger. Still in the early stages but looking forward to completing it.

  I think they must have been trying to recreate the original but there’s no way I could look at that. I notice this one pops up from time to time.   Will be working on this 1949 Gottlieb Sharpshooter. I expect a lot of the work will be cleaning and rebuilding the mechanics. Playfield is in good shape and should clean up nicely.   If they are Game Plan connectors, there is a well known problem. When they boiled them in colored die, the PH changed.. and over the years the pins invariably corrode. The only real solution is to replace both male and female. They pins are super hard to get out, so the solution is two housing and all new male and female pins.   If anyone is looking to join the club I am going to sell one of my Gameplan games. I have a really nice survivor SharpShooter II for sale in Michigan near Detroit. Prefer outright sale but may consider trade for a Super Nova or Captain Hook. Keeping my original Sharpshooter and plan to always have at least one Gameplan machine.

  Frunch, I think you bought my Sharpshooter. I agree, a nice shooter! I've got another playfield I'm itching to arduino up, but need a cab for ... ! Actually I've been working on an alternative MPU based on the MEGA for use in Sharpshooter. I use the WAVtrigger for sound but can also use the original sound boards.   Hello all, I've been really fascinated by the new code with Arduinos for the early Stern/Bally games. A question for anyone who knows. Is it possible to do the same with a Game Plan board? I have zero coding experience but have great interest in doing one for the game Sharpshooter. I was thinking of taking one of the existing rulesets for a similar Stern/Bally game and trying to adapt it to fit Sharpshooter. Any guidance or advice would be greatly appreciated. Jared

  Would anyone be willing to get me some pics? I needs pics of an original Sharpshooter candy cane loop plastic (the small clear lower one at the peak of the candy cane under the large top plastic as it's mounted in your pin? I have the small clear plastic with the 3 holes, and I could figure out a way to mount it, but I'm looking for how it's originally mounted and what hardware is used (standoffs etc.). Thanks!

  Finishing up a Sharpshooter rebuild and the only item left is dealing with the head connectors, Some flakey issues here and there. Does anybody just shit can those and go with solder and heat shrink ? PITA either way, but I think less connectors= better, although not original What do you think ?

  My first machine was a Sharpshooter. Came with a spare playfield mostly populated. I've been eyeing it lately, and this thread isn't helping! Glad to see so much love here. And moreso, replacement parts like boards and targets! Sharpshooter is a great game. Working on some upgraded alternative code for it with a new sound package.
