  Guys.... thanks for all of these interesting points of view. Just back from TPF and feeling tired, so off to play a couple of games on my 'Scared Stiff'! Simple game, with simple rules, which is perfect for when I just want to knock the ball around! Mind you, that 'Turn out the lights and get Scared Stiff' finale never gets old! Simpler machines, from simpler times. Just right for us old guys!

  Slight problem on mine because it seems it broke at the bottom and there is no thread to put a lock nut on. Use a small post rubber ring, I did on scared stiff frogs and it never moved

  The beer mug is absolutely OBNOXIOUS when it hits the glass. I'm talking like pinball smacking the glass obnoxious. I put a small post rubber on the beer mug "stem" under the playfield to limit its travel. Trust me, you don't want it hitting the glass. A lot of us know EXACTLY how "obnoxious" the glass hit is. Don't assume everyone thinks like you and will hate it. Scared Stiff is the same with the critters jumping. Some of us like that THWACK.

  I have a collector-quality ‘Elvira’s Scared Stiff’ (excellent original cabinet with shiny, restored playfield, themed mirror blades and mirrored backglass) that I will sell. The Spider spinner stopped spinning recently, but I am told that is an easy fix. I would normally take this out of state for repair and sale, but if anyone local wants it, hit me up. It is exceptionally nice, if you’re looking for this title. Thanks!

  I am really hoping that GTF blows us away. I have owned Scared Stiff for 15 years and recently purchased EHOH and honestly have been pleasantly surprised at how great this game is in a home environment. It is seriously a masterpiece. Dennis Nordman is a World Class designer and I have high hopes for this release.   Scared Stiff is one I always point newbies to. Rules are straightforward shots feel good but aren’t difficult. Wizard mode is achievable even for moderately good players.

  Question about the rules, hopefully ok for this "members only" thread? Honorary member?? Was playing in league format today and all tales were lit except for Coffin. I locked the third ball and never got the multiball... it went straight to "shoot the crate" to get scared stiff. Is that typical? I usually get the coffin early on, so maybe I just never encountered this quirk before.

  +1 on Bionic Bart mode. Only been to the mode once, but it’s awesome. I love the visual timer of the train moving. My other favorite timer is the heartbeat sound on Scared Stiff. Something magical about a secondary countdown timer in addition to the display screen. Looking at a screen under pressure is not ideal IMO.

  ... coffee table cocktail pin with Mars Attacks sound bites. I did manage to pick up a "crappy" Scared Stiff pf left over from someone's playfield swap. I was going to use it for art, but ... that will get covered up by cliffys, so it's getting swapped right back into my Scared Stiff. It was quite a score!

  Congrats! I almost sold mine again…. Then I played it a bunch. Nope. Not for sale Again…. This was one of my grail games - I never quite got into Scared Stiff as it was a bit too easy, but love EATPM and Movie Macabre, horror in general. It is (so far at least, never say never I guess) never leaving. Only game I’ve ever bought the wife said “you will not sell this”. It’s just almost perfect. Our pins were also featured in a Drag Queen slasher flick called ‘Death Drop Gorgeous’ which was actually great! It’s on Shudder if anyone is interested.   I have a WPC95 Jack*bot and I'm looking for a dump of S2/U2. I believe this rom is different for the WPC95 boardset, as when I burn the ones off IPDB, I get a soundboard interface error and complete silence. And no, I don't have the original it came with. If I put a gofers or a scared stiff U2/S2 rom in it, the AV board boots fine but obviously bongs due to incorrect other roms. If someone has one they can dump, it would really help me out!! Added: Nevermind - I found one.

  I played that EaTPM before you bought it. That was a beautiful machine! I reached out to him later if he wanted to sell it, he told me you bought it ugh. I am so lucky to have connected with Daane at the right time. I already had Scared Stiff and EHoH. I really wanted to complete the minty trilogy with a restored example. We discussed it for about 6 months before he let me have it. I installed new green displays, powder coated legs and more. I believe he’s working on another one now. He knows his stuff!
