consulting the tech guide for your Bally SS Viking can be incredibly useful. These guides often contain troubleshooting tips, diagrams, and explanations of common issues. They're like the holy grail of technical assistance for your specific machine. Don't have one, but if that can help someone fix a Data East Robocop with the above mentioned Data East issues, great! That said, the game is working pretty solid now.

How many pins do you have set up at one time? Was the RC a new addition or out of storage? Too many. And they all work flawlessly. And a few more in the house. RoboCop was one that came up in a conversation that was about all there was left to get and picked it up a few weeks ago when it showed up at the local auction. Then last night it was decided it's about the only one I really need and all the others could go. I feel much better now. [att=8059434,3800278 caption=""] [att=8059434,3800279 caption=""]

I guess I could have had them both, but didn't see the point. Don’t forget DE Tine Machine. I put a few games on that one as well, but the novelty seemed to wear off kinda quick. No one ever complains the DE ones brick in my experience. Break when they get old in my experience but they all do. Bricking isn't anywhere as common complaint. Which DE pins have drop targets? I am only familiar with my Robocop, which had stand up targets only.

Yeah, last I checked there wasn't any combability for the alphanumeric Data East yet, but that was also a couple years ago so who knows. Regardless, I love the music and sounds on both my PoTO and Robocop and wouldn't change them if there was an option to.

Robocop Restomod | Data East + MPF/SNUX Question Post #5 in topic

I did not, so Robocop went away. Related, hypothetical alternative that I was also curious about: FAST also does not have a timeline for releasing their SYS11 board to the public, and they also can't confirm that it does work with DE games (but it might). In any case, a few dead ends still leading me to planning out what I will do and which titles to choose.

Data East switch problem Post #7 in topic

Posted 8 months ago by Shogun00 – in Tech: Alpha-numeric ‐ Last reply 8 months ago

In Time Machine, the pop bumpers have two switches. One that triggers the coil, while the other triggers the switch matrix. I ran into the same problem on my Robocop and it turned out that I had a broken yoke and rod (one of the nuts snapped off). This prevented the second switch that goes to the switch matrix from triggering.

There is indeed a jumper (0 ohm resistor) you need to clip and the image instructs you on which one to clip. In short, you need to clip the J5 resistor. The default setup is for DE Version 3 and 4 boards. The Version 2 board that Robocop uses has a different setup.
