  Although I didn’t quite dial in a few of these games, they just didn’t appeal to me. Galaxy I found to easy, pinbot I wanted to like, but meh. Jumping jack was a lil slow, and not what I was hoping w all the drop targets to shoot down. And Raven..well, it’s Raven..

  I confess the most fun I ever had playing pinball was with the 4th worst SS game per the Pinside ratings: Raven. I was in my 20s (mid 1990s) and it was my first machine ... $350 was all I could afford, but it was in amazing shape and never gave me a single issue except for an occasional burned out bulb. My friends (yes even the ladies) would come over, drink some brews, play over and over, and laugh at the ridiculous backglass image. But hell it was fun. Raven is a guilty pleasure game

  Is there a reason to collect the medallion from the Raven Bar other than just for points? Does it advance anything or is there something progressive? It would be cool if before you could start the wizard mode, you had to collect the headpiece, the staff, and then correctly set the height of the staff. “They’re digging in the wrong place!” :o

  Do you have the manual? I'm looking at several System 80 manuals and they all show switch numbers on the page with the playfield diagram. I don't have Triple Play, but the Raven manual (1986), which is also System 80B and only one year after your game shows switch numbers on the playfield page listed out with their physical locations.

  With all the connections disconnected I have 5 VDC out of the power supply. Plugging in the power to the motherboard pull the 5 VDC down to 1 volt. Is there a replacement motherboard available for the Raven?

  Hey Guys, I revived a totally dead Gottlieb raven, replaced chips, piggy back resoldered, etc.. Also the memory was toast, so i installed a new Z5 ram chip, test says Ok and it keep high score. The only weird thing is that after the machine is turned off and On again, names are screwed up, Like NFR > NF6 , MSE > MS, NFR> KU4 also the scores do not add up anymore. Could this be a corrupt chip, or can anything else cause this ? Thanks in advance.

Thirdly, how are those PCB covers coming after I win that Raven Croft mod (), I’m going to be needing a pair of those. LE #83 arrived yesterday along with my premium!   Here is my 2.0 I used a Nordic style raven. Although I think I like the top Raven of the 4 You sent I’m going to try it with that one [quoted image] Warboy looks ok. The nordic raven still has the problem of too much fine detail with lots of fine lines that clash with the look of the other icons. I think it needs to be simplified to match the others.

  Having owned 1000's of pins (I used to buy containers BITD) I can without a doubt say the worst pin of all time is Popeye. I never owned it or a lot of other pins, but that might be the worst I have played. Never played Thunderbirds, Vacation America though, or Raven.

  Spectrum - cool game and concept, but those plastic slings (wtf???) and the 3-bank drops that need only 2 targets down to complete ruined it for me. Raven - Sys80B, not fun to work on, plus a ruleset that makes you work hard to get a chance to make a difficult ramp shot for a 50% chance of earning..... a bonus multiplier...ugh!

  Just picked up a 1986 Gottlieb Raven aka Legally Distinct Female Rambo…. This one is interesting because the seller mentioned it had a populated NOS playfield, and I gotta say the appearance supports it. No mylar and the playfield feels smooth as glass. Cool find!   I collect marbles. The showpiece in the middle is wonderful. Raven's work? Yes Raven's work. I work at his booth from August to October. I am lucky to own several beautiful pieces. I get to see them made every weekend of Faire and then decide which one I like the best. Raven changes style often and very creative.   I really like this game and have had big scores, but always wondered if it had multi-ball? I see it does now from this thread, but It must be hard cause I’ve never gotten it and played it a lot. It came out in a time where a lot of games didn’t have multi-ball such as Gottlieb victory and Raven, Williams comet/cyclone/bad cats, I guess why I assumed this. What is the multi-ball strategy?

  They don't make replacements! Not that I see anyway. I have a Gottlieb Raven in fair shape, trying to revive it. But battery damage, board is no good. Do see a post from 4 months ago w some suggestions, not confident in modifying a system 80/80A board (unless have to). Who has an oem board or replacement. Anyone?   If anyone had still has the #Gold Wings backbox lock and latching mechanism intact, that can post a picture?   That plug was for the reset board, which is worthless. It was apparently created because games were locking on while on locations BITD. All it does now is cause problems, so it should be unplugged. Welcome to Pinside. If Raven is your first pin Im excited for you/Im sorry for you. Gottliebs can be headaches but I started on a Gottlieb System 80 so it's doable
