Stepping through every audit and clearing them back to zero should be good enough to reset the memory for every game except the buggy version of Meteor (sound problems) which no one should be using anymore. There is a couple early MPU200 games that don't program the sound RAM until you finish a game/ball. The first game played on Ali with new RAM the bell sound is usually bugged out. Once you finish the first game it fixes itself.

But all my other Sterns just have the door hardware slapped on the top of the wood surface. Is this your Dragonfist build? It was originally a Meteor cabinet. I do have meteor's original code on my list to revisit again and update with the new style 7 digit code I already used in Galaxy and Ali. The same droning sound is odd in Ali if I had an Ali I'd probably turn it off or replace it. It's more space-y than box-y.

The meteor drone is part of the appeal.... 100% When I first played meteor i thought the background audio was a terrible joke and couldn’t believe someone sent it out factory like that. But the more and more i play the game i actually think its genius. It totally raises the tension of the game and its pretty easy to get an idea of how someone is doing on their ball by just listening. Respect the drone!

Meteor 2021 - new code for Stern Meteor (1979) Post #635 in topic

Posted 37 days ago by slochar – in All modding! ‐ Last reply today

The meteor drone is part of the appeal.... and the way they wrote the code it's integrated you would have to recreate all the sounds to get rid of it. Might not be too hard since the end of a sound jumps to the background sound but would mean duplicate sounds or a change in the sound engine to allow a dip switch check.

#WH2O silkscreen printed. I also agree that Meteor deserves better. If Buthamburg want to go the Meteor route I may be able to help with a playfield scan. Mine is an early "red Meteor" version, which IMO is the more attractive of the playfield variants.
