  Has anyone put LEDs in the GI on a gen1? I want to brighten up Space Shuttle but I think some of the GI is actually feature lamps (the inlane ones flash when the ball travels past). I imagine LEDs will look awful there. Me in a locomotion and I love them :)

  Dear Locomotion owners, may I ask somebody to shot a hires picture from the backbox side? I am in a restoration, first I have to recreate the cabinet and backbox side graphics because it is in bad condition and I unable to use my own photos (lots of problematic area). If it is possible, please use your phone (or it could be better with a camera) with tele lens as more as you can (I need perspective distortion should be as low as it can be because I will use it as a base to redraw the graphics).   Heads up on Locomotion pinball. To change the settings "The Gen1 games use the Advance button two ways. From the door open, you're only going through the tests (1-5). To get to audits and settings, from game over, press the button on the CPU board (nothing obvious happens, just press it), then press Advance on the door. This takes you through audits and settings."   I have a locomotion that doesn’t make the chuff noise. I see in the manual that you change the setting to turn it on. My machine doesn’t have the little circuit board with the dip switches to change the settings. Am I missing something? Is the chuff programmed into a chip on some machines? J

  I was playing Locomotion with the other half last night, the ball drained and when I looked up it looked as if the game had gone from 3 balls to play to 1 ball to play. It had skipped an entire ball, for both of us. I remember the ball draining fast, like it often does but nothing else untoward. The next two games played normally. What would cause it to skip a ball for both players? Is this even possible?

  How do you folks align your flippers? It's something I'm very particular about. On my locomotion I have them so it's a straight line from ball guide along the flipper rubber but I wonder if they're supposed to be lower and aligned like classic Ballys where there's a straight line through the ball guide down the middle of the flipper. I noticed the left ramp on my loco is so hard to hit and I figure the flippers being lower would rectify this .

  I usually only LED the GI's on zacs. I seem to get random flicker for inserts in most of them. I think we discussed already several times about this subject and I repeat that with the right model of LED bulbs you don't have any flicker. I have fully moved to LED my Locomotion and my Farfalla and both look great! PS Having only GI's in LED doesn't really bring any added value to my opinion.

I am considering doing the inserts but I would be inclined to leave the row of lights under the Special tent(?) As you'd lose the fading of the lights which is a great effect.

  [The flippers on my Locomotion are way out of alignment. I had bent the coil stop to compensate but it didn't last long. I can't find anything that fits these grub screws, it always feels like I'm stripping them out. Has anyone rebuilt or replaced parts on Zac gen1 flippers? Can these be replaced?   Not sure how broadly they used this style of lock or how many versions of it there are. I confirm that all the second generation pinball machines have this mechanism plus the later production of the locomotion. It's a nice idea to produce such a lock.

  i have locomotion. I think locomotion is the only one that uses that sound board. When the ball enters each station. The game makes the shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh sound, like a train putting on the air brakes at the first station. Then it's just the bell for each additional station. Then the chuff sound starts up again after going through all stations. The Shhhhhhhhhhhh sound is also when you first boot the game.

  just looked. C5 is missing on mine as well and my sound works prefectly fine. Do you have a locomotion or another gen1? I'm curious what sound effect plays when the ball enters each station. I know you get the bell but mine triggers the unwanted noise first so it feels like it's a sound effect gone wrong. Or at least it's somehow triggering it

  I thought I'd fixed my unwanted horrible noise. I recapped some of the sound board hoping it would do something. I noticed C5 missing. The schematic says there should be a 27pf cap there but theres no evidence of one breaking off. Obviously I'm now in hope that this is the issue.   Does anyone have a Locomotion and would be willing to tell me or record what sound plays when you turn the machine on? I swear it makes a noise and it might be a clue regarding my unwanted noise. Also my unwanted noise is triggered by turning game on (goes when another switch is hit like start game) then comes back when you hit a station switch. Can anyone confirm if there's supposed to be a sound played when you get a station or is it just the bell?

  I like trains There should be more trains and less squirrels in pinball. Just sayin Zaccaria's Locomotion likely has the best train backglass you will ever see. Sadly it is a Zaccaria and I just don't want to deal with owning anymore Zaccaria machines. We have owned several of them and I am just not a fan of having to do board work on them.

  About to join the club, my other half bought me a Locomotion as a surprise, because I'm a train driver and it's different to anything else I own Should arrive in two days. I'm familiar with the game time bonus but how easy is it to turn it off?(if you can) I want it off for tournaments as it can confuse players and want the games to be quicker. Also could someone give me the width of the backbox? I need to figure out where I can fit the game

  Frisbez - you rock! I got the 3081 replacement chips, put one in, held my breath and poof! It worked! Very happy. I obviously had to go through the reprogramming steps but once I did that, the game came to life. It’s not perfect by any means yet but a huge step in the right direction! Thanks so much!   Finally getting my Zaccaria collection in shape! Locomotion, Farfalla, Soccer Kings, and Robot all ready now. Time Machine is next on the list, and I'm looking for one of the red drop targets. Someone replaced the broken one with a white Bally target. It looks weird and doesn't work correctly. Can anyone here help a fellow Zac collector out by selling me a spare red drop target?

  Hi, Another question: One of the EOS Flipper switches is broken on my Locomotion. Is there a recommended/suitable replacement part? I can't find one specifically for a Zaccaria, but parts for other machines do look similar, e.g : https://pinparts.co.uk/products/180-5018-early-data-east-eos-switch-subs-for-wms-10a-8 Would something like this work?   Hi All, I'm new to the Zaccaria club, having purchased a couple of machines requiring work (Locomotion and Space Shuttle). I'm currently looking at the Locomotion, slowly working through the issues. I have a question with regards the scoring. Every time I hit the flipper buttons (left or right), the score increases by 500 points. Is this normal? Seems like it shouldn't be. Thanks! Wayne.

  This motion sickness concerns me. How bad is it with Alyx? My Rift didn't bother me too much unless it was a bad rated experience. It's not bad at all if you use teleport to move around. I have a friend that gets bad vrsickness and she was just fine using teleport to get around. She couldn't do the locomotion style of movement at all though.

  Well, the curse of owning an Escalara finally struck me this morning as my brother called to help him move a 500+ pound fireproof filing cabinet from an estate sale. Involved going up stairs, down stairs and up a ramp. Worked like a charm. Boy those things are heavy! Does the escalera provide locomotion while on a ramp? I'm considering renting one to go up a truck ramp for a house move.

  WOW yes very interested but what sort of files/pictures etc would you require as we have just a Firepower/Fan-Tas-Tic and Locomotion in our personal collection that we would like to look nice That locomotion looks like it’s possibly applied with a silk screen. Hard to tell from the online pictures I see. It looks too detailed to be a free floating stencil, but I could be wrong.

  I was looking at the Locomotion before pics after populating the back board with new bulbs and noticed that some are round and most are not. Looked on the Firepower and again some are round and most are not.   just need to work out the Locomotion ones See the fuses mentioned here - they all appear to be fast blow: http://www.zaccaria-pinball.com/gen1/repairs.html Generally speaking, when a circuit requires a slow blow fuse it will be specifically stated. If there's no mention of slow blow or fast blow then fast blow is presumed. Looking at the schematic of the Locomotion power board, those fuses all look like fast blow based on the circuit design.

  Hello, Enjoy this restoration. I have almost finished my locomotion but got stuck for lack of time, I need to restart it again and finally close it. But I didn't do all you did, I tent to remain a bit more conservative and remove less elements while cleaning. I still need to fix a problem with the left flipper which doesn't have strong kick, need to clean the door and the reassemble it. Electronics are up and running. Gianfri
