Other than being cheap compared to last year, anything pointing to a resurgence? I know they just issued $100M in $15% interest bonds, which to me seems crazy, but I'll admit I know nothing about them beyond that. You can talk reopening plays and all of that, but this is what it comes down to: short interest squeeze play. People are following the GME example. That worked out pretty well for me. I do not recommend this for anybody. This is riding the lightning.

How is GME not bankrupt by now?? lol. Crazy stuff. They are actually doing pretty well. Chewy founder just got 3 board seats. Getting ready to transform its business. Seaking alpha had an article today that book price should be over 100 bucks. And oh yeah, there is more short interest than shares available. Massive short squeeze going on. I do not advocate anybody investing in this. This is naked gambling and riding the lightning. But it sure is fun!

If I had a 3 pin lineup based on those choices, I’d go: GNRLE DP PREM SW PREM comic. Lots of diversity in those 3 pins. GNR = the total package. Lightning strikes in a pin once in a lifetime (pun intended), and this is it. DP = Fun, light hearted, entertaining, with unique and satisfying shots. Great code and one of sterns best ‘attention to detail’ games with rules, sounds, music, display, art, etc.. SW = fast, punishing, strategic, lots of breadth, One of the best unorthodox rule sets in pinball.

They switched to the red plastic saucer for #magic and every game (that either had a saucer or multiball) has that style. That eBay listing is correct but overpriced, it's not a super uncommon part. There were 3 or 4 of them used on Lightning alone. I think Gottlieb parts do work in a pinch. If @woody76 doesn't have one I can check the parts I actually got from him since they were Big Game parts.

Do yourself a favor and measure the flipper gap before you swap flippers. If it’s a three inch gap now it will be about one inch after the swap. Barely big enough for the ball (1 & 1/16”). Lightning flippers are an eighth inch shorter. I still don’t think it would be fun for more than a couple minutes but it’s your game.

Pretty much every standard-width M-200 classic Stern (Meteor and later) is fast. A game like Quicksilver can be blazingly fast, but you can get the ball up to the top lanes/pops giving you time to breath. Dragonfist is probably the fastest back to the flippers, or Lightning while on the lower playfield. You can't go wrong with any of the Sterns from this era imo.

F*ck, you didn't even point out the biggest difference... (Circled in green..) I did, I called them orange "icicles." Called them out on both sides on different numbers. Guess I should have called them lightning or flames, but they were pointy at the ball, like icicles, so that's what they became. :)

The technologies that would be great to see in Stern’s next music pin would be lasers, smoke, lightning or holograms. I would love to watch a group perform via holographic vignettes and with some good sfx. That would be the ultimate pinball in physical form and might also be the only way to reunite Plant, Page and Jones.

Does anyone know how to trigger this scene? It occurs during multiball or possible stacked multiball. The carriage goes across the screen and lightning flashes. I'm trying to fix a possible bug in the coloring but this scene is super hard to make occur. I can only get it when I have a really great game and would love to be able to see it with the glass off. Bummer. One of my fun things that I like about pinball is a fun match sequence. I get some people don't like them. But, so long as you can skip them I don't mind them, and I enjoy them. Really dumb that the match is what it is. Even munsters has a better match. Shame. I like the whole lightning thing, especially when you get a match. Don’t disagree that “ unpleasant dreams” should factor in. What’s the Munsters match?

terrapinmark : That line-up...... Sir- your taste is impeccable. Thank you so much! I have had just about all of the classic sterns at one time or another. These 4 are permanent. I have had Lightning, Big Game, Split Second, Seawitch, Trident, Free Fall, Lectranamo, Meteor. The one game that I do NOT see mention that can play very fast and mean is Stern Ali. I also have a few classic Ballys. The two toughest and fastest games in my collection are Quicksilver and Frontier. [att=5996343,2222821 caption=""]

The center loop on Lightning will test your reflexes, but I don't think it gets the prize for shortest ball times just because you can try to keep the ball in the upper pf as much as possible.

Now what? Anyone try this (a move I lifted from Earl Scheib)? [quoted image] Are those lightning flippers?
