Haggis Series Pass Post #13 in topic

Posted 2 days ago by rai – in Other Stuff For Sale ‐ Last reply today

I owned a Fathom Mermaid one of the most beautiful pins ever. GLWTS it’ll be a great buy if they follow through with their ambitious plans. I can’t see how Haggis is profitable at their current building pace. With them being on the opposite side of the world from 90% of pinball people it’s like they have one hand tied behind their back. Shipping is a nightmare.

I feel like playfield protectors and hardtops have a lot more experience and milage than haggis games..is this not a mostly solved problem? The 2015 MMR I took a day 1 playfield protector off a year ago of didn't have any noticable scratching after some hundreds of plays. I was one of the first to receive a Fathom Mermaid from Haggis and the playfield is flawless today. I agree with you, this is a very solvable issue.

Buuuut, now that I know it's a plastic playfield, my hype meter is sub-zero on Ninja Eclipse. No thanks. Polycarbonate is not plastic and it really is unbreakable and no pooling.I have a Haggis Fathom Mermaid and it plays extremely well.Having said that I cannot speak for the Ninja.

Hey guys. I love Fathom. there's an original at a place I play at frequently. But I'm tempted to get one of my own. Mermaid edition sold out. Probably a lot of demand will drive resale prices up ... 't want to miss it. Any advantage to getting from a local US dealer vs ordering from Haggis direct (shipping, price)? If dealer, which ones?

Personally not a fan of Centaur. Incredible art package, but that’s it for me. EBD would tempt me. But I’m betting it’s Centaur just based on popularity. I’ve never played EBD. The PF looks proper, but the art/theme is not my first choice. Centaur, Skateball, Medusa - all are better looking imho. Still, after the amazing Fathom Mermaid, no matter what (Classics, and possibly??) Haggis does, I’m in.

Anyone else swapped an OG for a revisited? Yes, I did. Like Punkin, I sold my OG game in anticipation of getting the Mermaid Fathom. Having had my Haggis Fathom for a month or two, it's a no brainer IMO. It's a stunning machine to look at, well crafted/constructed, and the new code and sounds are great. Although the code is still a little buggy, I know it will get better. Haggis Fathom plays much smoother, faster and more accurate than my original did and I had a real nice copy of it.

I think Haggis is happy to sell a relatively small number of very high-end remakes to pre-dmd collectors. I bought a Haggis Fathom Mermaid because I think it is the most beautiful game ever made - I don't have any pre-dmd games otherwise. As for TZ, it's simple math. To get a completely restored TZ with new everything, it's going to cost $13-$18k. But a new CGC TZr (with improved screen, sound, RGB lights and topper) would be $10k (ish). TZr would sell like hotcakes.
