Gorgar - New Boards - Strange Sound Issue Remains Post #11 in topic

Posted today by ShaqqyPE – in Tech: Early solid state ‐ Last reply today

I do notice that the solenoid 12 sound is very short in length. It does repeat when I leave test on solenoid 12, but I don’t recall how it sounded during the solenoid test back when the sound was working. Did you ever determine if the short sound during the solenoid 12 test was "normal?" I am working with a Gorgar and have a short sound there. I can't find an example online. Hoping you can confirm that the sound is short when properly functioning.

I have room for 1 more pinball... what do you think it should be Post #63 in topic

Posted 4 days ago by SlapDrain – in Buying and selling advice ‐ Last reply yesterday

If you have room for 8 total I would have 4 modern lcd pins, 2 dmd era pins, and 2 solid state pins. Sometimes you only have 5 minutes to flip and a game of stars or Gorgar fits the bill. If they are in a lineup on one wall the order should be ss,lcd, dmd, lcd, lcd, dmd, lcd,ss.

So I have a Gorgar that I am repairing And it's having these issues where only the 2nd 4th and 6th segment are showing up. I'm delving into solid state for only the second time since most people around here have a electromechanical pinball that's what I'm used to working on. But I have to learn this stuff to get better. I'm assuming it is the main display board on the bottom left since all of the displays are doing the same thing but any help would be great [att=8129330,3859484 caption=""]

That’s what I got from PBR and I was just curious on that? Thanks in advance You should have firepower style rebuilt kit. Call PBR. Gorgar is still the old EM style.

TAF & Gorgar They both bring back great memories of specific times in my life. Gorgar reminds me of Uncle Stanleys Arcade that was one my favorites of the several Arcades in the area. I remember TAF when it arrived at my favorite watering hole. High Speed, Pinbot, etc were really cool, but TAF was extra special. I've had both for 20+ years, and both are permanent residents of my collection.

Need help finding Item # - GORGAR Post #8 in topic

Posted 83 days ago by JakeSaintJames – in Tech: Early solid state ‐ Last reply 28 days ago

I'm working on a #Gorgar right now, and I need one of these targets as well. Seems I have the same problem as @yoko2una - missing the back plate. I can't find any for sale, or even a part number. Closest I can find is the blue bullseye target part number is 3A-7218, Marco's has it as 17-1015. But I don't need the target, I need the switch, which has a seemingly unique style. Can anyone help me out? Thanks, Jake

For the record... I love the hardtops! I did the prototypes for Gorgar and Blackout. Done correctly they turn out beautiful. I just came up with the idea when I was thinking about my Defender. To get that PF restored would take a lot of money and would never be exactly like the original due to all that like dot matrix type art work... I figured a could put a softtop on it and then later on it could be redone if I wanted. The idea popped in my head then of why isn't this offered today?

Game plays great now but needs to be shopped. I'm figuring the potential buyer is going to want to do it themselves. Also have a Gorgar in 100% working condition.
