I assumed soldered stuff pretty much had to be re-soldered. I actually enjoy doing it, but have only done it on a rotisserrie when working on my old Genie. I'm not good at it, but it was fun trying. I started to get a bit of a rythm.

I dismantled the spinning lamp assembly today while cleaning and realized that the genie lamp (including the round orange plastic base) is a bit loose and can "tilt" about 2 mm on two sides. The rod that's rotating the lamp is fastened (pressed?) to the bracket and there is my problem as it's not a 100% stiff connection. I'm talking about this part: [att=7549078,3364086 caption=""] My guess is this T shaped part should have zero slack but I want to verify this before I ask a friend to spot weld it for me.

I assume that as with Bally I should be able to achieve two, three or four player mode by pressing the credit button two-four times? (I'm new to Gottlieb). I have done the earth mods and the slam/tilt bypass on the MPU. Its an original MPU but looks free of any damage. Any thoughts anyone? -Thanks.

TOTAN's amazing looking in every aspect and one of the first games I ever picked up. It has some very very cool pinball tricks - bed of nails ball-save, disappearing magnet at the genie. The ramp is smooth to shoot. In a larger collection it fits perfectly. In a smaller collection it may not be deep enough as its not a tough game to complete and can a little repetitive. Like most pins now this one seems to have become ooberly expensive. It does have a semi low production though.

You're supposed to plunge balls as soon as they hit that shooter lane ... . It gives you a frenetic fighting feeling which suits the battling the genie theme IMO, when you're flipping like mad, plunging ASAP, flipping, plunging, etc. I dug ...

Coolest thing that I remember about my old TOTAN & the time I spent playing it was when you reached Battling the Genie to rescue the princess is that there is NO Auto Launch/Plunge on this game.....all balls have to be managed manually & plunged quickly enough to keep the timer going etc... only game I can recall like this where auto launch is not available during wizard mode ? Perhaps it was just an oversight by Jpop ?

Genie game over relay Post #8 in topic

Posted 15 months ago by spikedbat – in Tech: Generic ‐ Last reply 15 months ago

I’m having an issue with my Genie. Game has tilt and game over lights on after powering up. If I start a game nothing works expect the switches. No lights and solenoids. I can feel the tilt relay pulling in and is energized. If I pull it out manually everything turns on. Is the tilt relay being energized bc I have an issue with one of the four tilt switches? I’ve looked them over and they appear to be normally closed switches. I’m kinda stumped at this point. What causes the tilt relay to close?

Genie System 1. I have no voltage going into the power supply in the backbox. I measured it earlier in the week and I had all the requisite voltages. I assume that it is a bridge rectifier issue. The Old BRs were 35 amp 200 v. Can I replace those with 35A 1000V kbpc3510W? https://pinside.com/pinball/machine/genie

I recently got a Genie with the wires ripped out of the A1J6 plug. Im having trouble finding a good high res photo to repin it. To add to my issues i find there were 2 different wiring systems on a Genie. 1 is using solid colours (sorry Ozzie spelling there) and one with striped wiring. I need the Striped wiring version. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance. Ps if this is in the wrong section let me know and ill fix it. Cheers Geoff

Mine has wear in that same area. Where can I find this decal? This might work for you. https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/free-genie-upper-pf-pdf-decal The machine I picked up recently has a sticker over the arch. I bought the game from a friend and had played it previously without even noticing that there was a sticker there. So take that as a thumbs up. From the looks of it - mine appears to have some variation of the 2nd image in that thread.

I got my Genie up on legs in time for visiting family to take it for a spin. It was a hit! It's HUGE on legs too! I ended up getting 28 inch legs since that's all I could find in stock anywhere, so it's (very slightly) taller than it should be, but still very playable. What about copyrights? Are they a factor if you share models that you model yourself? In general, as long as there is no artwork, no logos, and no sculpted items that could be considered decorative rather than functional (ie, the genie on TOTAN), pretty much everything else should be in the clear. Parts can be covered by patents in some cases, but anything older than 20 years has expired.

Picked up a good ol' players Genie last month from a friend. I'm a sucker for black friday sales, titans, and warm white over the cool whites that were in there, so a top side tear down, some spit shining and a coat of Blitz and it's looking about as nice as it's going to. Such a fun game. So wide. So so wide. [att=7276010,3154572 caption=""] [att=7276010,3154573 caption=""] [att=7276010,3154574 caption=""]
