The touch ups around the orb saucer are elementary as are the genie "highlights". Why anyone would let their 5-year old do that to the genie is beyond me. Otherwise, a great looking machine. With a CPR repro playfield and a new genie, nothing else could be improved upon.

Behold the beast that is Genie at the Forest Inn. It was turned off when I got there, but played fine once I turned it on. No chimes, don't know if they were turned off or just not working. Upper right flipper sticks. Otherwise OK. Looks like they're getting a branch of the Italian Store a few doors down, lucky. [att=1466535,329563]

I have a Gottlieb Genie that was working at the house with the coin drop at 25 cents ( even at ... quarters in to play. ). I was talking with a local watering hole and I offered to take the genie there. We'll we moved the game there and like an idiot I left a multimeter inside ...

What's in your restore queue? Post #37 in topic

Posted over 10 years ago by shimoda – in EM Pinball Hangout ‐ Last reply over 9 years ago

Well, EBD-LE to get working, clean up, rebuild flippers, bumpers, etc. A certain Genie is coming my way from the OP, and soon after that a Flash Gordon. I also have a 75 Williams Big Ben I have yet to get running properly, then will decide whether to build a cab for and a Solar Ride to decide if it is worth to get running (and build a cabinet for). So yeah, not much. Oh yeah and some other projects not to be mentioned here...

In all honesty...You can only have one pin so I would go with a system 1 solid state that has had all the mods done too it. get a SS Joker Poker or a 79 Genie. Very competitive machines and affordable at around 800-1000 dollars.

Posted over 10 years ago by Arcade – in EM Pinball Hangout ‐ Last reply over 10 years ago

Just poking a little fun at them. I like solid state pins, just not as much as EM's and modern. I used to own a Genie that was as mint as they come. Some lucky person has it now, but I can't remember who I sold it to anymore. I also have a Williams Hot Tip that is fresh off the assembly line as well. My family plays the hell out of it. Even have a brand new LED display controller board and displays coming for it. The old gas ones are getting weak. Little photo just for fun. :) [att=1444580,325805]

Because solid state pins were just a stop gap between the two best types of pinballs. Sorry, had to take a quick jab at my least favorite types of pins. lol. Glad the kids had a great time. You need to get a Gottlieb Genie, Joker Poker, Black Hole or Haunted House to change your mind on that call. Even an Eight Ball Deluxe.
