I think they got some Russian solder cheap. It was unbelievable. Looking at TA again, I see that the line to those lites goes thru a NO Tilt Hold relay sw. That looks really nice, and I would let it be. I've had mostly very good results with clear coating, but twice it backfired in a very bad way and now I'm very hesitant to do it again unless absolutely necessary. One backfire was a near-pristine Williams Fun-Fest, which, even though I've since sold the machine, still bothers me. The other my Gottlieb Flipper Parade, where some formerly ok areas went south afterwards. I had to remove a bulb on that one (right majorette's face) so it didn't stand out so much.

Well I was correct that it wasn't the ratchets. The new springs were working for those. It was in fact the first thing I thought it was but had eliminated - The set screws were slipping on the axle. This time I took a sharpie and marked the axle and the wiper board and ran it through a bunch of rotations. They were way off when I was finished. It's working great now. Just need to adjust a few switches for better contact and I'll have a darn good looking Flipper Parade. Thanks for the input as always!!!

"Gerry is buying Rancho so it will end up in NY - a lot closer than IL" Hoov, that's Excellent, I am near capacity and Rancho is on my hot list, but not my bucket list. Only Majorettes and Rock Star are on my bucket list. Hearts & Spades and Subway are on my high alert list, just got myself a Hurdy Gurdy and I'm in a 3 horse race for a Flipper Parade. Rancho and Teacher's Pet, and Heat Wave are the only 3 Williams games on any of my lists.

Update in a week or so, unless I get a problem that I can't resolve in the meantime.

All three games are Exhibit Supply Company games (commonly known as "ESCO"). The game on the far right end is a 1941 ESCO "Big Parade" and the second game from the end is a 1941 ESCO "West Wind". The one all the way to the left is a 1940 ESCO "Zombie". Most definitely pre-flipper and early WW II vintage. I would imagine a pack of smokes was like gold to a young sailor back then.
