Gottlieb roto unit lever Post #2 in topic

Posted 52 days ago by durriti – in EM Pinball Tech ‐ Last reply 51 days ago

Looking at the drive lever on my flipper clown 1962, and the drawing in the gottlieb 1966 parts catalog, the differents seems to be at the pivot end but the way the lever cranks may be different. My lever is 5 5/8" long and just over 3/4" wide, the pivot is a round metal boss unlike the drawing. [att=8192772,3914651 caption=""]

I mixed up the colors of my displays since there's so much going on in the backglass. It looks great! I have 1 Blue, 1 Green, 1 Red and 2 Orange( the second one for the Ball/Match display ). I'll get a pic for you guys. This sounds cool! Great idea. I don't need new displays on the one I restored, but if I did, I'd borrow this idea! I put pulsing-light flipper buttons on mine, and went with color-changing. I usually hate clown-puke, but if you're gonna clown-puke a game, this is the one, lol.

Your resale value is going to go in the toilet. If I was looking at buying a Demolition Man and the handles weren't there I would judge that machine to be in too poor a condition to refurbish, and look elsewhere. You certainly don't have to use the handles, the flipper buttons on the side work fine. And this is your game! Fill it up with Clown Puke LED's, chop the handles off with a sawsall, set it flat on the ground without legs! It's your machine! But don't expect other people to buy it from you.

I find cabinet restorations make the biggest impact but playfield restoration to the OCD detail oriented is quite satisfying. Flipper Clown is the 1st one I attempted a repaint on. I repainted about 75% of this one. I got it as a literal basket case in pieces and boxes as an unfinished project another guy lost steam doing.
