So, the worst piece of my Fathom. The story from the guy I bought it from is the owner before him lost the keys and had to drill out the lock, well he didn't drill the lock, he hacked the cabinet and attempted to patch up the hole. Not entirely sure what I'm going to do yet as I don't have any of the inner lock mechanism and don't really need it at home, so may just clean it all up, smooth it out and paint it to match. I'm a believer of incandescent butbs in older pins, but I suppose some machines pop better with LED's. Fathom would be one of them, I think. Any recommendations for where you have installed LED's in Fathom, and what color/shades they are, and pics to go along with your results? Thanks.

Cabinet could use touch ups but he has a stencil kit that could be used if you want to refresh that too. Downside is the playfield. There is paint loss by the lower right outline. Weird fathom power board Post #1 in topic

Posted 31 days ago by Nihonmasa – in Tech: Early solid state ‐ Last reply 30 days ago

Hi all, My Fathom stopped working. Only having 6 LED flashes on the MPU board on the start up, so probably a 43V issue. Problem: when I opened to check the board , here is what I found. It is very different from the ones I am used to find in Ballys from that era. Plugs are also quite different... How am I supposed to change it with the brand new replacements which are completely different?[att=6366247,2471881 caption=""]

Any chance of a DBA-ready coin-door option? I'll be putting my Fathom on location, and it would really be nice to have the ability to accept dollar bills. Pretty much all pins released stateside since the mid-90s have had coin doors with a DBA slot cutout. But I get there are aesthetic considerations with this particular game.

Yeah they've lost me with Halloween, I'm not big on horror themes to start with. Maybe this other theme might be the one. AoD would be definitely been cool, would have had slightly more chance of going for Friday the 13th, but never been a Halloween fan. Guess I'll wait for my Fathom Mermaid and wait to see if Godzilla turns up from Stern.

I simply don't want the brain damage of deep rules. Crack a beer, relax and have some fun. I still have some new games and will continue to, but more and more I've been collecting games from the 80's and 90's. And this is one of the reasons I'm really excited about the new Fathom 2.0 being made. We are in the same boat. I’ve sold off a lot of my LEs and have Fathom on order. A mint NGG and Hulk LE coming from the US soon. Thinking of getting rid of BKLE and adding something in the middle.

Looking at the playfield layout. Return lane stuff. Two drop target banks, polished ball lane guides. I don't think it could be done for $5K. Mirrored backglass too, isn't it ? Not a translite. LTG : ) There is so much packed under a fathom Playfield there is literally no room for anything else. Makes a Stern pro look baron.

You would have to spend a shitload of money on an original to get it anywhere near this machine. Yes. point right there. I have a Beautiful Fathom already. It's worth 7 or 8k second hand here to the right buyer. I couldn't get it to the new game stage for less than 4 or 5 k to pay someone to do it, and no way i can take on a project like that alone. So i'm at 14k allup to restore the one i have or spend the $11,500au on a new one. Mermaid edition no less.

So go halves in one with a mate. Problem solved. Haha, as I mentioned it's still possible that I'll pull the trigger because I want a nice Fathom that badly! I've been hoping for years that CGC would make some of these classic games once MM, AFM, MB and CC were out of the way. It appears that's not going to happen and Fathom is the game at the top of my classic Bally list. I can order a Mando Premium for cheaper or maybe a Godzilla, so there is that consideration too.

Does this mean Fathom production may be pushed back if you’re expecting that time to receive your celts? I’m happy to wait an extra month or two as a few purchases lately have been quite expensive. One might speculate the two projects will overlap... Celts could still be in the assembly and finishing stages... while Fathom is in the sub-assembly and parts manufacturing stages. Etc.. So fathom 'starting' may be before celts 'finishes'
