  My parking lot story: I bought a Farfalla from some dude in Massachusetts. An east coast guy I knew on IRC bought a CV from some dude in Pittsburgh. I drove east and picked up his CV, he got the Farfalla and drove west, we met at a gas station somewhere in the middle of PA and swapped games.

  I think we discussed already several times about this subject and I repeat that with the right model of LED bulbs you don't have any flicker. I have fully moved to LED my Locomotion and my Farfalla and both look great! PS Having only GI's in LED doesn't really bring any added value to my opinion. I have frosted sunlight 2smd comets throughout my farfalla and there is no flicker or ghosting. I even have them in the backbox.

  I usually only LED the GI's on zacs. I seem to get random flicker for inserts in most of them. I think we discussed already several times about this subject and I repeat that with the right model of LED bulbs you don't have any flicker. I have fully moved to LED my Locomotion and my Farfalla and both look great! PS Having only GI's in LED doesn't really bring any added value to my opinion.

  Finally got around to replacing all the capacitors on my Spooky soundboards after I lost all sounds on it a few months ago. I managed to get speech and SFX back but no background music Anyone have any recommendations what to check? Any progress on those sound board repros gianfri ?   If anyone is interested in beta testing the lock from above PM me. Thinking of building a handful to send out for test fit & function beyond Magic Castle for those that are missing locks. Note that I'm still working through the finished look on it. Will be making the exposed piece have a radius to better fit the cut out on the lock side and have an idea to try for giving it a metallic finish on the exposed portion. Count me in. I have a Devil Riders and a Farfalla can test it in. Mike

  I need to find out if this is a keeper for me With game prices so high now, I have no problem putting money in them if they need it. I dont know if its a keeper either, but its a really fun game and I come back to it often in my collection. But I really love the backglass, its stunning. I put a $500 backglass in my Farfalla! It completely changed the look for the better.

  I wouldn't say Pinball Champ and Farfalla have the same layout or shots by any means. They're pretty different, except for both having a clear upper playfield.

  Really difficult to say The game I really like most is Pinball Champ Farfalla is a remake of Champ with nice graphics. I don't have experiences with later versions, I still need to restore a Magic Castle. Robot, Pool Champ and Mexico use special round targets, and the latest models have advanced sounds like Spooky but is the overall game funny enough?

  Do any of the Zaccaria experts know how to turn off the attract mode callouts on a Farfalla? I checked the manual and I couldn't find a setting for the attract mode sounds, only for the background sounds during gameplay.

It doesnt need to be perfect, just about anything would be better than having nothing there.   Also, can anyone confirm for me what transistors drive the pop bumper lamps on Farfalla? I can't read the number on the schematic scan I have. A pair of the lamps in my pops aren't working. One is very dull, the other has no light. Appreciate it!

  Did you try the LED bulbs I indicated some time before? If you watch the video I published some time ago I have no flickering on my Farfalla. Im using Comet 2smd frosted sunlight LED's on every single bulb in my Farfalla (except the move ramp bulb in the blue drops, its a special bulb) and have no ghosting or flickering.

  Looking for some help here. Long story a short I have a friend that has a small collection of Zac. Games. Farfalla, Magic Castle, Devil Riders. The games are all there and while not perfect in decent shape. They all work intermittently and the boards appear clean, so I am assuming connectors need attention. I still need to get pics, but what would be a fair price for a game needing a light amount of work in today's market? Would 1700 each be fair?

  Well I definitely have some go-to pins - Xenon, Blackout, Firepower, T2, Stargate, Black Hole, Paragon, Barracora, Joker Poker, Gorgar, haunted house.... Some I just like the look although don't play as much - sider man, Medusa, farfalla. It is a hard decision.

  Finally finished my Farfalla and made a video to show the game play and LED bulbs in action: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qgz6U2tDQS8 Regarding the bumpers, they switch on in pairs and the pair changes when the upper contact under the upper playfield is hit. PS I have one bumper which has a contact problem and unfortunately it's the one under the upper playfield which means, I should remove the all playfield to fix it and for the moment I have totally no time to do it :D

  Can anybody explain what the appropriate bumper lamp behavior on Farfalla should be? I get two bumper lamps coming on at a time, which seems purposeful. But a third glows dimly (new bulbs, good socket), so unsure if it is supposed to be on or not. Appreciate any insight. Cheers!

  So after asking Randy, looks like I was wrong about plug n play. He said "Technically you need LED adapters for the type of drive circuit (SCR) that's in Zaccaria. It's the same drive circuit used in early solid state Bally's. The flickering is caused by inductance in the wiring harness."   I did finish up a deep clean on my Farfalla yesterday, and replaced all the bulbs with Comet 1SMD warm whites. They all work, but I get some flicker on the inserts as @captainneo mentioned. I will try some other bulbs I have on hand, but I would be curious to know what kind of bulbs are being used that don't flicker.

  The flipper/ramp thing in the outlane is an interesting thought. Maybe similar to how a kickback works. 1 use then needs to be recharged. You get one flip at it to save your ball. Would need its own flipper button. The rest of it looks typical jpop. Zaccaria has this feature on Farfalla and probably others, you get flippers on both outlanes and one flip to save a draining ball if the feature is lit. Y'all think Popadiuk came up with an original idea?? :lol:

  Zaccaria, was an Italian company. Pinball Brothers is manufacturing in Italy. A "Mermaid Edition" of Farfalla could be an interesting run. Anyone know where one is for sale?   Ok. So a wireform with 4 wires. I do think he's the first for that? I don't know my European games super well though. Farfalla (1983) SORT OF has one in the shooter lane. It's held together with brackets, not a welded loop of additional wire though. High Speed is 1986.

  Curious, what games do you think the rainbow posts would look good in? Something like Farfalla? My first thought had been Wizard of Oz. Wonka would also be a good candidate. There's also an old woodrail called Rainbow and a 50s Gottlieb also called Rainbow. I wasn't familiar with Farfalla, that's a great suggestion too, thanks!   Very true, lol. And - to be clear - I'm not offended. Just like cars, roller skates, or any other hobby you can think of, everyone has their own preferences, especially when it comes to mods and customization. I knew not everyone would like them nor buy them, and that's perfectly fine. We all love pinball, and that's the most important thing. Curious, what games do you think the rainbow posts would look good in? Something like Farfalla?

  Just a quick shot out for these displays. Ordered a kit for my Farfalla. Straightforward to assemble and work great. Had an issue with a bad component that the company quickly resolved.

  I was shorted a 22uf 25v polarized capacitor with a LED display rebuild kit for my Farfalla. Can I substitute a non-polarized 22uf 25v? I seem to recall reading that you can sub non-polarized for polarized, but not the reverse. Thanks,

  My farfalla cuts off the the last words on a callout. The guy says "that's not only bad.." Instead of bad luck. I fiddled with the speed control but it makes the voices high pitched. Can i fix this? Also I'm still looking for a green lady Euro insert for my game.
