What’s a messenger ball? Foo Fighters, Embryon, Centaur, Mystic, Lost World, Breakshot, Mustang, Venom-carnage, big bang bar to name a few all use one or a variation of one. Stern Jurassic Park Truck could be considered loosely based on a messenger ball. But I would consider this more of a captive ball-messenger ball hybrid. Messenger ball is a single ball thats held, but when hit changes state of action to move to a contact switch.

It’s all original The right flipper coil was swapped and the F5 rectifier fuse holder was either changed out or got really hot at some point. That MPU is from an Embryon. The "EEM" on the tag confirms that. Star Trek would have an "EST" tag. That said it a really clean example. The caps are OE on the sound board and will need replaced. $4K is about right for a ST fan but $3K to real collectors.

Not sure if that would help or not. It was a huge job to disassemble and reassemble and then worrying for nearly 2 months that it would come back from Arkansas in one piece knowing how federal and UPS like to throw stuff around. Looking forward to see how the new playfield print will come out.

Embryon is going to be a tough find, but you might be able to use a head from a different machine from the same era: perhaps Lost World, Playboy, Harlem Globetrotters, Dolly, Silverball Mania, Eight Ball Deluxe? These were all much higher production machines than Embryon, and *appear* to use the same style head. (But do verify). Lightboard would be different, and of course you'd need an Embryon backglass and new artwork.

You can put me down as the source. Mirco has been working on a repro for quite some time around all the JJP projects. I’ve been told it will be ready sometime this summer but I’m thinking fall is more realistic. It’s been a long time coming already. [quoted image][quoted image] Nice, my embryon is close to a barn find. Holding off on restoration until a playfield option is available.

I like this list except Embryon as it’s not fun to play, and Galaxy is very easy to roll. Add Big ... be on the list. I don’t have enough time on Big Game to comment. As for Embryon, I think it is a very fun game when set up correctly. Probably $3500 for a decent example ... one of the “B” list games with speech. Off-topic: I’m looking for a replacement apron for my Embryon. If anyone has one in their parts stash please message me!

That’s a good topic, what are the Tier A SS “others”? The best others- Flash Gordon, Star Gazers, Fathom, EBD, Nine Ball. B list- Paragon, Quicksilver, Embryon, Viking, Meteor and Xenon. Titles that are selling well despite being weak players- Dolly, Kiss, Rolling Stones (unless dialed in perfectly), SBM, Playboy and Big Game.

I’d be all in on Paragon or Future Spa. Either world be gorgeous. Embryon is a pretty incredible game as is, I just don’t think the looks are there for a Haggis remake.

definitely not, i mean not in the first place to identify if the issue is with the board, instead of something else. If you confirm it is on the board then either you can diagnose the board issues or just buy a full replacement for it- Definitely worked. Put the board from Space Invaders with a light out into Embryon and now there’s a different light out. Thanks for the tip, I’ll get a new one and use one of these to fix the others.

Posted 13 months ago by Doctor6 – in American Pinball ‐ Last reply 5 days ago

The game is essentially 9k. People that want a tank can pay 11K or 18K or whatever. For $500 more there's not going to be a lot of people that will choose this over FF or most stern premiums or even pulp fiction. I own Embryon, there's no more bizarre space theme then that and I love that game. I just don't see how this wins in the current market. It doesn't stack up well against its current competition at the moment. Maybe gameplay will change that. Embryon is the most whackadoo theme ever. It is amazing.

Best pinball machine for nudging Post #1 in topic

Posted 14 months ago by Electronmagic – in All Pinball ‐ Last reply 14 months ago

What pinball machine has the most opportunities for nudging, or nudges the best? And why? For me it's Embryon. With the criss-crossed left inlane/outlane and the passage under the plastic, the right outlane with a post and gate you can nudge the ball back into the inlane, and the upper lanes with no lane change, I find myself nudging Embryon successfully way more than most other machines, even with the tilt set tight.
