Where are all the 20 hole games? Post #14 in topic

Posted over 8 years ago by bingopodcast – in EM Bingos ‐ Last reply over 8 years ago

Oh, that is amazing! Thank you! That makes a ton of sense. I figured that Bally had found a way around the law as there are so many later games that are very easy to find in the States, like Nashville or Dixieland. The above article also discusses in concrete terms why Silver Sails/Golden Gate had so many production errors (wrong backglasses, wrong playfields, wrong cabinets, etc) - running before the law caught up!

( The OXO next to it would have got a once over from me - I like the Pointy people - I have a Gulfstream and Doodle Bug, I'd add a nice OXO if presented with the chance ) I better not come out East for a show, I know I'd come home with a Bingo if I saw a nice working one and another game ! Forgot to mention corners scoring, super lines, and red diagonal scoring! What a great game! One of best things about Dixieland is your strategy will shift as soon as you fire ball #1 and see the magic number unit latch to a particular number. At that point you have to change your strategy completely - aiming away from your 'safe' numbers for card #6 and doing everything you can to hit the magic number on ball #1!

I'd have to give the edge to Fireball over 4MBC... just slightly. They are somewhat similar. Both have high concept artwork and features but Fireball is a bit faster and more memorable overall. Can't really go wrong with either in a good sized collection... love the classic Bally's. For pure gameplay with 2" flippers it's hard to beat Capersville and Dixieland with an honorable mention to Cosmos and Rocket III.

Bally Dixieland This machine looks to be in pretty nice condition based on the pics. Should sell for somewhere between 400 and 500 working. Maybe a bit more to the right buyer. At a show, it may go for a bit less. Dixieland is the last 6 card EM that Bally produced and has the best set of gameplay features that really help the player. Doubled or quadrupled odds based on player control and hitting a specific number on the playfield. Corners, super lines, and red diagonal scoring.

What game are you looking for? Maybe someone here can help you find it. I'm actually building a Dixieland from parts. I found a really nice populated playfield in Vegas a few years ago. Then a buddy gave me a backglass to scan and recreate. Then a local guy sold me a cabinet. And someone else recently told me he has the bottom board and head guts from a bad cabinet pin he parted out that he'd donate to the cause. My plan might just be dumb enough to work!

Do you have photoshop or any other image editing software? What file format is the scan? Most likely it is uncompressed data and we can easily fix that. Or make it a grayscale to reduce file size. I have a vested interest in getting these schematics up, I'm building a Dixieland from acquired parts...I'll definitely be needing these schematics.
