Bally Dixieland Bingo stuck in tilt Post #2 in topic

Posted 16 days ago by baldtwit – in EM Bingos ‐ Last reply yesterday

the tilt light also turns on when the anti-cheat relay is unpowered ... which it normally is when you first turn on the game. if the tilt trip relay is not tripped, then none of the tilt switches are your issue. try pushing the anti-cheat armature plate down on the coil top when the power is on. If it doesn't stay there, your 50V fuse is probably broken - possibly at a cap end where you can't see it. schem can be downloaded from https://bingo.cdyn.com/machines/bally/dixieland/resources/schem-dixieland.png

Thanks I thought you had a EM Ballly PinBall game -- 1968 Dixieland. Zip Flippers are ones that slide over to close the gap in the middle of them then slide back open. The coils I was talking about are on the pop bumpers ,they have two different layers on them with a divider in the middle of the coil with 3 leads coming out of them. Don't know if I can use a score motor from a Bally Pin? If anyone has some info that would help. Thanks.

Are orange/red flippers a norm for Dixieland? Pretty sure mine are white.. Now that I have added space, and Dixieland being AAB convertible, not much doubt I'll eventually have mine set up.. Red/orange is the original flipper color on Dixieland. But, when they fracture, white is far more available as a replacement.

I recall when going through my Rocket III, Dixieland & On Beam pins that they had some strange carriage bolts (#8-32 x 3/8") that did not have the normal square underhead (I ended up installing round Phillips machine screws). I have looked everywhere for these suckers, but to no avail. The frame is cylindrical, but there is no way that a manufacturer would allow a playfield to be accessed with a screwdriver :D, so I must be correct in this mamory. Any ideas where to get these?

I am looking to paint the pachinko area on my Williams Apollo, and was wondering how folks do it (there are a few other titles over the years that have this as well, such as Bally Dixieland), as all the pachinko nails pose a problem. I suppose one way to do is to take out all the nails, then spray paint, then reattach them. I am leaning toward taping them, then spray paint, then remove the tape.

The ones that have flippers I'm actually crazy for the Bingo pins with Magic Screens, Mystic Lines, Miss America ('75, Supreme and DeLuxe) and the later, feature-rich, six cards such as High-Flyer, Nashville, Dixieland, Continental. Also the flipperless one that started it all for Bally: 1931/32's Ballyhoo.

Quite a steal on that Dixieland. It may be the most innovative single-player layout Bally created during the entire decade of the 60’s. Mini-bagatelle with dual-scoring, zipper flippers, build-up bonus kickout shot, spell the title across the backglass for a credit, rebound scoring, three oddly-angled slings with three diverters, and the longest outlane in pinball history (with a chance to save it).

Anther zipper flipper is in the house.. I am glad you scored another unique pin, but for some reason Dixieland had never caught my fancy. I never really had the desire to acquire it. Maybe it was the cartoony artwork or those hungry side drain outlanes? But I am sure you will give it the love and respect any vintage pin deserves. NicoVolta, I am sure would disagree with me on my opinion on Dixieland.

No "chances" and "tightening" like in EM bingos? The portioning affects a few aspects of Dixieland, and I suspect the same is to be said of New Orleans: the number of magic ... the 1970s, Bally moved to guaranteed awards of the cards themselves. This is carrying forth Dixieland and Continental's tradition, and not due to a Belgian law.
