The Pinside Touch-Up Paint Color Thread Post #80 in topic

When using acrylics to touch up, do you put anything on top to protect it? If not, wouldn't it get worn by the ball? The acrylic paints are definitely vulnerable to ball wear. I’ve been using mylar over major touch-up areas. I’m working on a Snow Derby playfield right now with extensive wear, and I’m planning to clearcoat.

I think it's probably a decent playing game. It has the passing kickout holes which is kind of neat. If you could find a cheap used backglass and enjoy fixing them up it may be a worthwhile project. Better than a Star Explorer or Demolition Derby for sure.

I've managed to reach Duck Derby a few times. When it starts, it says something about shooting green shots and avoiding red shots. Problem is, it always starts with all shots on the playfield lit up red. Is that normal? It happened today, and instead of shooting a red shot, I cradled two balls in the right flipper. With two balls cradled, each time I hit the left flipper button, I scored 2000 points, and I could do that forever.

There was an ad today in the World Herald, 14701 ARBOR ST, just said "pinball machine". I was near there so I stopped in not expecting much, and I was correct, thought I would post this to maybe save someone the trip. It is a Wonder Wizard Demolition Derby home use machine for $250. I played one ball and it seems to work OK. Wasn't interested so didn't even talk price. I took a picture but apparently can't post it here. It is in the IPDB or I can send the pic if wanted.

Bally Skill Roll Post #138 in topic

Posted over 5 years ago by cfh – in EM Arcade Games ‐ Last reply 19 days ago

Skill score is a lot better than Skill Parade. i personally don't think skill parade is really worth the trouble. Skill score is way cool because you get an actual score. that's what makes it cool. I would be interested in how you convert skill derby to replay skill derby. it's a lot more complicated. and the vertical playfield is different. (lights on the right.) novelty skill derby is kind of stupid frankly. it's a bummer... needs a winning replay or at least a knocker or *anything*.
