Card Whiz............new coil....sleeve.....no binding..... It pops with no ball,........... but with ball it kinda ejects it out weakly like the ball is too heavy Other coils seem to have enough pop so don't want to high tap. Maybe this is the way the card Whiz is? Any members with a Card Whiz ...............does yours act this way also?

Stopped in one of our local pawn shops and seen a Card Whiz setting there. Price was 400, "used to work but quit all of a sudden" they said. (See the pic I took there and you can spot the issue of why as I did.) This thing has the back door, original keys, coin mechs, the coin box and all the paperwork! Can someone verify. Green with red Joker or green with white Joker doesn't do it, only red with white. #cardwhiz #royalflush

Recently purchased a Card Whiz and High Hand, my first EMs. I was cleaning the player unit on Card Whiz and removed the rotating wiper disc without marking its position first. How should this disc be oriented relative to the cams? Is this something I should be able to figure out from the schematic? The manual indicates home position for the cams, but not the rotating disc. The game has some other issues I'll need to resolve, so I can't just use trial and error until I get it.

Hey Randy, sorry to hear about that issue, I never played the machine much and wasn't aware of the cycling thing. One thing to also look into is to be sure that all switches in the path to the solenoid make good clean contact. I had issues with the bonus stepper on my Card Whiz and after messing around with the relay to no avail, I realized it was a dirty switch that wasn't making good contact that didn't give enough power to the solenoid to do its thing.

GTB Royal Flush question Post #6 in topic

Posted over 7 years ago by knockerlover – in EM Pinball Tech ‐ Last reply over 7 years ago

If they truly are it could be because gottlieb made 2 player only versions of this era games. Maybe this was an easy way to "add-on" the 3rd and 4th player? The 2 player version of royal flush was called card whiz.

Didn't know that. Blackout is my first pin and was my entry into the hobby just this past Summer. An entry that was perhaps all too quickly followed up with my purchase of a Card Whiz project pin this week. Nice pickup - Card whiz is a cool EM... PBR has a lot of restore stuff available for it too.

Card Whiz. The drop targets won't go back up on reset. Post #1 in topic

Posted over 8 years ago by Zeusophobia – in EM Pinball Tech ‐ Last reply over 8 years ago

The cards on my card whiz do not reset after a ball. I replaced a bunch of fuses (possibly incorrectly). I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it. Every single drop target stays down and does not pop back up.

The layout of Sky Jump/Card Whiz doesn't work for me personally, but, in terms of condition and price? If it was on my hit list I'd already have snagged it. $400 is a deal for that game especially in that condition. And it's the more desirable 2-player version.

I have never played Card Whiz, but the rule set sounds fun. I always like the Gordon Morison artwork, and the larger drop targets behind the smaller drop targets are interesting. I hope you have a great time with it if you make the purchase. Is that possibly a "free play" button that has been added to the left of the coin door (photo from Craigslist below)?
