Gorf and Astro Blaster price? Post #8 in topic

Posted 115 days ago by sunnRAT – in Generally off-topic ‐ Last reply 114 days ago

Gorf is like 1500-2k. I'd say 2-3 for the mini cabaret style cab. Astro Blaster 500 to 1k. Not a good looking game or cab. You really have to like playing it if you're willing to pay anything north of a grand for that game. "Mini-Myte" I used to have a Bosconian in this cab style. Wish I still had it.

I thought Astro was saying a while back that Bitcoin isn’t poised to be a successful currency right now because it’s treated by the markets as an investment and is too volatile. But the pitch is that it will one day become a/the real currency, at which point it would potentially be a less exciting investment because it would be relatively stable in value. Some limit the era of modernist pinball art to the creations of Jerry K. Kelley and Christian Marche for Bally & Williams from 1965-75, but clearly others of this era were influenced by modern art trends. Gordon Morrison for '71 Gottlieb Astro/Star Trek featured brighter, varied colors and almost a pop art look.

The bad news is, it mucks up viewing for astronomers, both pros and amateurs alike. (All the astro magazines have plenty of examples of satellites messing up science images.) Too many internet streaks in orbit. I like watching the launches and seeing the occasional satellite go over, but it sucks that the results are now so numerous and too reflective. Really need smaller darker sats if we have to have so many.

3 pinball machines in a minivan???? Post #41 in topic

Posted 14 months ago by Ballderdash – in Transportation questions ‐ Last reply 13 months ago

Astro, Town and Country, and Caravan are all different from a Pacifica. Think shoebox vs. jellybean. Those old vans work because they are not aerodynamically shaped. The Pacifica body and its interior, while long, is contoured and curved. Those sleek “refinements” eat up space and you’ll curse the fact that a bulge for a subwoofer, built in vacuum, or 15th cup holder causes that last pin not to fit. The headspace follows as well. Rounded bolsters as opposed to 90° frames at the pillars.

I am brining my Centigrade 37 and Astro to exhibit at TPF this year. Kim Vanderveen has always been kind enough to provide a space for our small club and friends to have games. If you would like our games grouped together, please add the following to your listing to assist her in setting aside some space. (Exhibitor Display Name: ArkLaTex Pinball Club)

i thought Glass Onion was great. sounds to me like someone peed in your egg nog. You know, I'm actually glad to hear that some real people really enjoyed it. I've been reading user reviews at Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic and I've just been feeling like they are all fake reviews hired to create an astro-turf support for the movie. But I guess it's not, there are real folks who fell for that horrible fake southern accent. Well fine... enjoy. #NotMyCupOfGlassOnionSoup :-)

Bally (Astro) driver board issue Post #1 in topic

Posted 16 months ago by EMDude – in Tech: Early solid state ‐ Last reply 14 months ago

Working on a 1979 ‘Astro’ (mfg.) SS pin that uses Bally style boards. It works but the out hole coil is stuck on. I identified its transistor which I noticed was missing a piece so I figured it blew up at some point (photo). I replaced it with a new TIP102 but same issue, so I changed out the resistor which appeared burnt, still same issue. I swapped the board with an Alltek and everything works properly. What else on this board circuit may be causing this? Thanks! [att=7271472,3151099 caption=""]
