I may be straying away from my "good" premise. But here's big flipper, for those who want a little more, down there. They had one of these at Allentown (or it might have been Pinburgh, not sure) about 5 years ago. The novelty factor was high, but it wore off quickly for me. I tried a couple of games on it and never felt the urge to go back to it. I’ve never played a Hercules but I imagine I’d feel the same way about it….

It's always been like this, and no, they don't have the number of games they need to run the "old" size Pinburgh. PAPA had to sell off some (if not most) of the original collection...and I think the current organizers are using a completely different collection.. and they simply can't support a higher player count. It HAS to be capped because of the machine count, just like the 24 Hour Battle HAS to be capped due to the format and machine count. It is what it is.

I just decided that it's just not $370 appealing to me like it was years ago. I said to myself that I would participate if: they get back up to 400 entrants and the entry is $200 or less. Until then, no thanks. The "fun for everyone" feel is totally lost on me when it's 4 day trip that costs quite a lot of money, especially once you add in traveling expenses.

I know at Pinburgh, when they had TNA on the main stage, they drooped the flippers like this and also purposely gave it flipper hop by adjusting the lanes and flipper mechs. BRUTAL... :)

I don't classify Jack Danger as a top tier player but I get your point. I personally would rather have the likes of Keith, Raymond, Tim working on games as they have a better understanding of what shots work and how to better integrate them in a game because they are world class players. Jack is a good player for sure. He got pretty deep at Pinburgh A division a few years ago, qualifying 16th in A. But no, he isn't on the KME or Raymond level.

I've been trying to sneak in for an hour between tournaments and get my skills up on the games I'm not super good at. Yep, that's the trick, practice (and buy) the types of games you suck at. I once got demolished at Pinburgh on classic Bally games so I sought out a couple to buy, I think I ended up with a Harlem and a Stars. Helped a lot.

I really don't know where folks are getting the idea that this was some kind of a pinball prison. Looked like it from what (admittedly little) I saw of the stream. I mean, I've been to PAPA, Pinburgh, etc. Some have more fringe benefits than others. And yeah, there's a lot of downtime when you're playing in a tourney, but seldom enough of it in one chunk to "see the sights." Have to show up a day early or stay a day late to see anything more than the airport industrial park in the devil's armpit.

Last deal I did like this was Pinburgh after the flood. Sold those guys 15+ games and they paid for all of them upfront before delivery. After the payment I wrapped them up and dropped them off at the Papa facility. This is too risky as the buyer may nitpick after the games are set up and delivered.

Ain’t no fun standing in queues all day for 3 rides. May as well stay home. Last trip to Pinburgh, we hit Kennywood on a Weds or Thursday at 5pm (?) for their cheap night pass. We had done all the rides by like 7pm. Straight onto everything. Probably only a couple of hundred people in the whole place. rd
