2021 Lake Charles Fall League

This is league, matchplay based best game for ten weeks, then finals, 6 different locations over 11 weeks

It is with great enthusiasm that we are announcing the 2021 Lake Charles Fall League. It has been a while since we had a league, so we are going to try and ease back into things. Lake Charles was, of course, absolutely decimated by Hurricane Laura, Hurricane Delta, the pipe bursting Deep Freeze, the great May flood, a severe roof destroying hail storm, and of course COVID-19. Due to all of these weather events, we lost at least three of our regular players who have moved away. We do hope they will visit.

The league is every Tuesday beggining on Augst 17th for eleven straight weeks with play each day at 5:30pm and ending around 7:30pm (ish).

The league will be ten regular weeks plus one eleventh week for the finals. Only the top six qualifiers from the ten regular week period will qualify for the finals. Your top eight weeks count (so if you miss two weeks of the league you will not be materially harmed in your standing since you can drop two zero weeks). There are five different locations the league will visit over the ten week regular season, five at the league’s primary host site and then five different league members will host a league night at their home (this will be alternating, one week at the primary then one week at the guest site, then back to the primary and then back to the main site…and so on and so forth). The finals will be a random draw with the main site having five chances and each of the five visiting slights having one chance…that drawing will be done the last week of league.

This league follows the best game format week to week and then the knock out format in the finals. During regular weekly play, you will have two plays on each of five games each week. Your best game on each machine will formulate your score based on the matchplay “modified decay” 100 point formula. Finals will only have four machines in play, the six combatants will have two plays on each of the machines with their best game counting on the matchplay modified decay formula.

This league utilizes the matchplay software. You are required to download the matchplay software and become proficient enough with it to take photos of your score and submit your score through your phone.

The league rules are as follow:

The primary location for this league is at a law firm and we are very fortunate the law firm allows us to utilize this location. This is a professional setting and as such you are expected to conduct yourself appropriately and abide by the law firm’s rules of conduct. You must be hygienic and wash your hands before pinball. Alcohol or recreational drug use on the premises is of course strictly prohibited – do not violate this policy or you may cost us this location. You may not bring guns on this location (we do not care if you have a concealed carry permit, no guns!). League starts at 5:30pm, the law firm closes at 5pm and they do not want us there before 5:25pm so that way their staff can depart. Please do not show up early. Be polite and respectful to all other guests. Do not make insensitive or inappropriate jokes, we have regular female members and are an inclusive league that prides ourselves on our diversity.

Anyone who was in a prior iteration of this league is immediately pre-qualified. If you want to join the league but have never played with us before, you must reach out to us and provide us some information about yourself which includes your full name, residential address, primary email address, the primary phone number you are associated with, and your IFPA number (if you do not have an IFPA number we will help you obtain one). We do run national comprehensive background searches on all league members and will be looking to see if you have ever been arrested, convicted of a felony, or are awaiting trial for an alleged crime.
