IFPA MS State Championship Pinball Tournament to be held on Sat Jan 19, 2019 in Flowood, MS.
Start time to be around 1 pm. Arrival time 11:30 am to 12:45 pm if playing in the MS State Championship Tournament. Practice time from 11:30 am to 12:45 pm. Our host has agreed to let us stay and visit and play pinball in their gameroom after completion of the MS State Championship Tournament.
The top 16 ranked players from IFPA-sanctioned events and leagues held in Mississippi from throughout 2018 will compete for the chance to be crowned the 2018 IFPA MS State Pinball Champion, as well as the opportunity to go to Las Vegas, NV area and represent MS in the 2018-2019 IFPA National Championship.
Tournament machines will be a mixture of e-m's, classic solid state types, dmd type, and modern pinball machines, with year of manufacture being from approx. 1970's up through 2018.

Head-to-Head Single Elimination Format. Each 2-player match is Best-of-7 games on the winners side of the bracket, except best of 3 for deciding 3rd/4th places in the consolation match. All other finishing positions will also be played out in best-of-three matches to determine 5th through 16th places.
Entry fee is likely to be $0 per player, but there may be a small fee to cover hosting expenses. Cash prizes for all 16 places based on IFPA predetermined payout percentages tied to money collected during tournaments held in MS during year 2018.

A small side tournament will also be held after the main state championship tournament is finished.
This side tournament is open to the public to play in (not just the top 16 players in the main tournament). The side tournament will be a head 2 head, three strikes format.
A $5 fee per player will be charged and collected for entry in the side tournament for IFPA tournament endorsement fees, cost of trophy for 1st place winner, and miscellaneous hosting fees.

There will also be a small non IFPA novice tournament for new and inexperienced tournament players that would like to play against others close to their own skill level. There will be a $2 charge for this tournament and the winner will receive the all of the novice tournament entry fees as the prize. Players will play 2 games on the machine chosen for the tournament and will keep the highest of the two scores. Highest score wins the pot.
