Being a 1970 kid, by the time I started being fascinated with stuff, arcade machines were becoming popular. Space invaders etc. Pinballs didn't factor too much in where my pocket money went.
However, that all changed when my local arcade parlor brought in about 8 pinball machines as well as about 8 arcade machines - centipede, defender etc etc. Well this place was in between school and home, so I'd go there straight from school. My fondness of pinballs grew, and I had a particular interest in how they worked and bugged the technicians when they came to fix the machines. Well anyway, many of the arcade and pinball machines over the years were swapped out for different machines, but one always stayed - Bally Playboy. Everyone loved it. It was easy to play and not to difficult to get a free game. This essentially became my 1st favorite machine.
30+ years on, and I finally bought myself one, and I love it to bits.
On my essential wishlist is - Williams Firepower, and also a HyperPin
