This is a game that doesn't blow you away at first but is a joy to own, once you play it a while. It takes a while to learn the shots but once you do it's very rewarding. This is a must for LZ fans. I guess you'll see this game with low ratings but satisfaction comes with playing it a while - it's not easy to understand like AFM. 'This pin is in my favorite 1 or 2 but it took a while to get there.

This is the best pin I've played. An absolute must have for any collection. Great theme, funny, witty. Great depth.

This is the first game people migrate to (of WOZ, GB, AS) of my collection. It is very first time user friendly. Very nice use of theme and clips. This one always puts a smile on my face - but not for someone that wants a very deep game

I'm well pleased with this purchase. It has an open playfield with I like - not crowded like GB. Song selection is good but if you don't like Aerosmith you should maybe wait for something else. Stern has shown it can create good music pins with AC/DC, Metallica, and AS so I imagine they will eventually add a band theme to your liking if you can wait. Game has a great "just one more game" appeal. Shoot for what's lit up and you'll do well. I usually opt for the LE or premium version of pins but in this case I don't believe the extra money is worth it and switched my Premium to PRO. I imagine this pin will increase in value like AC/DC so best to buy now if interested. Game is challenging enough to make you a better player - right ramp and right lane must be hit precisely but there are easier shots like the toy box.
Animations are very good and screen size and placement are excellent. You can play and watch at the same time which is hard to do with WOZ.
Game would be better with earphone jack.

Great Theme! Lots of fun! New code (9/19) makes this game even better - most of all to the person that walks up to it for the first time.

This is a game you must play before you buy. I wanted to love it but 'walked away after only a few games. It was way to complex for me but even worse it didn't have the fun factor to make me want to stay and learn the rules.
The finish is beautiful and I'm sure the sound is awesome when cranked up - all games are a bit quiet at the arcade.
That said you just might love this game if you were raised in the dragon/fantasy era and care to stick around to learn the rules. It is very, very deep and Hobbit will provide a long term rewarding game - there are scenes and levels you'll probably never see. In addition JJP is super about code updates (if WOZ is any indication) so your Hobbit will stay "new" for years to come.

I own a WOZ and 'wanted to wait for some time before a review .
so here it is: The quality is the best and the light show awesome. The mini playfields I could do without but they are OK - I'm just saying I personally prefer a cleaner playfield. If I could own only one machine this or another JJP offering would be it. JJP has an attention to quality next to nobody. This is not just another machine but a new platform and as such there were kinks - the Hobbit should go much more smoothly. Personally my only problem was a small screw missing from one of the switches. Getting away from the system 11 type games and going to a computer based pin gives WOZ a quantum leap in what it can do. This games has the potential to become "new" again 10 years from now with simple (for us) code updates. Game play is very complicated and I still have a lot to learn but this keeps the game exciting for me. This music which is annoying if you listen only to Youtube clips is really pretty good in real life. The light show as well. I'm a satisfied owner - JJP delivered more than promised.
