Thats me ... a pinball fan

I was born 1967 in Cologne, Germany.
In the city of Cologne it is an old tradition to visit pubs, also my father was used to visit at least two times a week a pub and play cards with his friends or just talk and have a beer.
So within the 1980th pinball was also in Germany very popular. If I felt bored my father gave me 5 "German Marks" , that was around 21 pinball games ... so I was addicted to pinball as a small boy ;-)

Later on disco and girls became my favorite, cars and american football in a next step. Never thought about pinball, arcade was coming ...

In 1994 I was with my girlfriend on leave in the northern part of Germany. The weather was real bad and we went to a amusement hall , the whole day we played TAF. Since this time we often spoke about a own pinball, but too bad .. we had just a small flat.

From 1997 to 2002 I was posted for NATO in Denmark , in this days we bought a house in Denmark, but always we kept in mind .. "we have to go back to Germany" .... but sometimes we spoke about a pinball machine.

In 2002 we went back home , but no longer in Cologne downtown, a little outside in our own house. That was the right time to buy our own TAF, our first pinball machine.
After that nearly every 3 month we got a other machine, up to 20 we have had in the house or stored in the garage.

3 years ago we build a new garage, its 10 x 5 meters ... in the first half is my wifes car, in the second half are my pinballs. Its space for 10 machines, a MAME, 2 pachicos and small gameroom stuff. In the house we have no more pins .. that was the deal ...

Around 2007 I started refurbishing pinball machines, not small cleaning jobs ... highend with gold and chrome, new cabinets, etc, pp
This beside my normal job. After some trouble with my wife, I decided to shop out max. 2 machines for customers a year and 2 for my personnel use. So this days I am working on a BoP in Black Edition, a TZ in Black Edition and a BSD for a customer.

My beauties are 3 Alvin G. machines: MC, GarageBand and PP .

Story ends ...

Good Story. I am glad you like pinball so much that it sounds like you sacrifice parking your car outside to have space for the pins in the garage? Good luck restoring the IJ. I hope it turns out real nice...
