It all started a long time ago in a tiny village...wait, wrong story.
I started playing pinball in the late 70's, for something to do before Junior bowling started, and afterwards waiting for my ride home. The one game they had at the bowling alley was Stern's Magic. I used to love playing this game, because on a good day you could play for hours on less than a dollar. We had an Alladin's Castle in the local mall, but I prefered the bowling alley as their machines were only a quarter compared to 50 cents at the Castle. On my fixed income (allowance) at the time, I went for more plays versus quality of the machine.
When I grew up and got a job, I lost track of all the enjoyment I had as a kid playing pinball. A couple of weeks ago I was searching CL for snowmobile parts, and saw an ad for a Laser War pinball machine, for a fair price. I talked to the sometimes better half, and we took a 150 mile journey to look at the pinball machine. We played it, and ended up taking it home.
To make a long story even longer, I just sold my snowmobile to buy my second pinball machine (Tales From The Crypt) which I will pick up next week (650 mile trip) when I go on my annual golf trip. The machine is only 60 miles out of the way (one way of course). I'll post pictures of my new toy when I get back. Now just to find a Magic pinball machine to bring back so many childhood memories, some good, some not so good.
