A rare pin indeed, and I found a gem of an example for a really good price !

A beauty to look at, particularly with a real back glass !!
A solid original theme with some unique and unusual toys - see jump rope - when playing has some hilarious call outs.

Unfortunately for me it's a bit of a one trick pony, and there are a few design flaws that let it down. Hey it's not a bad pin, but it's not a great pin either. Not sorry I owned one once.

It's alive !!

I owned a fully restored modded and blinged one of these, chrome everything. Boy they are a beautiful machine to look at, a real piece of art. The cabinet, the playfield, the back glass all probably some of the best of the era. With led's, and a few tasteful playfield mods this pin captures its theme better than any other.

The dots on this one are great - especially with the colour DMD, and the interactive toys on this one as a collective have to be a benchmark, and make most of today's pins look barren. There is a variety of good shots that flow seamlessly into one another. The game also has a sense of humour - the cheesy call outs are hilarious, and it makes you feel like this game has a soul.

However...this one came and went out of my collection quickly. Quicker than any other.

Now I may get hammered for this, but it never came together for me. I loved the look, I loved the sound, but I didn't love the way it played (most important aspect for me) I never had that one more game feeling, it never gave me the adrenaline rush of some other pins, I never once felt glad for having it in my collection.

Now this was one of my grail pins that I thought that once acquired would never leave, but it's gone and I don't miss it.
Sometimes it's one thing to play a game like this on location, but it's another to have it for home use. All I can say is that if you are thinking of buying one, log some serious time on it first before your purchase - because it will be a big purchase !

But hey that's just like......my opinion man - and ultimately "she" may be the one for you !!

Flow, Flow, Flow. This game has it all. Great shots, interesting call outs and a very solid rule set. Great integration of the superhero theme (if that's what you like) Does not feel clunky like some sterns of that era can. All round a great game. I don't even care for the theme or the movies. If you are considering one for purchase - do it ! The only reason I don't have one is because a good mate has one, and lives about 2 minutes from my place.

A sleeper here !

So it's based on the rock opera and it's not The Who performing, but hey - where else can you play pinball to pinball wizard? The shots are varied - there are 12 modes - all with there own songs, a couple of skill shots that actually require skill, and a crazy 6 ball multi ball (as well as two others) Stereo sound as well. All this and code written by the great Lyman Sheets. I don't think enough can be said about the lighting either - The GI is excellent for a machine of this era, and try counting the number of flashers. LED it and watch it pop. Really like the playfield and back glass artwork. The blinders have to be one of the most clever toys in pinball. If this was The Who and had a B/W badge on it - it may be a higher up the ranks.

The one major neg for me is the cabinet artwork. Very bland, and often worn - then touched up incorrectly around the flipper buttons.

The game that put the silver ball in my blood. There is a reason this game is in virtually every top 10 you find. Its just great fun. The music, the call outs - that Jackpot build up. It cant be beaten. Still highly desired by most pin collectors for a reason. If you haven't played one - do yourself a favour and play one. Its what pinball is all about !! It's Showtime !!!

In my opinion the best of the 90's Steve Ritchie pins. (I know that's debateable) Yes it has simple rules, but it is super fast, and really addictive. I still grin like an idiot when I run the red light or get to redline mania. Love the flashing light topper, and I love the supercharger - best toy in pinball for mine. If you are a bit of a rev/gear/petrol head - this is the game for you. This was my very first pin, and I still absolutely love it. In my opinion a good first entry level pin. I am attached to it so much I had mine fully restored and customised. It will never leave.

Fun game with popular theme. Super light show (GI is excellent), and excellent flow. Good game with unfinished code that may one day be great. Good replay factor. Cant wait for Urban speech pack, will re review when code is updated. Sound on mine with upgraded speakers is great.

Ground breaking for this era of machine. Great looking machine with interesting shots. Love the machine dearly, but after a while - regardless of your ability - gets a little repetitive. Great sounds and Rudy abusing you is always amusing. Wife finds him a little creepy and lack of ball saver puts of the non pinhead. Better in a mid size collection

I am not big on the theme - but it has been integrated well. This one really shines with shots and all those awesome ramps. Quite a buzz if you get into a rhythm. Really has that one more game feel to me. Don't think it will leave my collection - unless I can get a better example. Fairly good rule set when you consider the era. Keeps me entertained that's for sure !

Loved the IJ movies (well the first 3) and this pin integrates this theme very well. Plenty to do here many modes and multiballs as well as 3 cool video modes. Love the music and the call outs. The only minus for me is that the game is a little floaty because its a widebody. A great example of a pinball from the top of the golden era of pinball.

This is for the Luci Edition.

This is the pin that is re educating me on how to play pinball. While I know as a die hard AC/DC fan that Luci has nothing to with theme - I just love the way it looks. The sound of this pin is second to none for me - especially with the powered sub. Integration of the theme overall is great, and the variety of ways you can play it, and the strategy involved in doing so boggles the mind. This is when you can keep the ball in play !! This machine can give you the biggest adrenaline rush, and have the biggest replay factor, but in the next breath can be the most vicious, brutal game I have ever played. Thus I have a love hate relationship with it. Never leaving my collection.

Another great looking machine that integrates the theme well. The ball just flows on this machine. Some say hitting the trunk is a little repetitive - I say most games have a toy like this. Some say a little to easy - I say maybe, but great fun. That's what its all about ! Seems to really appeal to the ladies for some bizarre reason. Average wizard mode, but hey - how often do you get there ?? A good one for non pin heads as well. Don't play it as often as I used to but when I do I have a ball !

Owned a beautiful version of this until recently - what a beauty to look at. I loved the music, the sound, and the light show. But gameplay - while solid has flaws in the rules (wishing the tales away with no quality option) Lastablility in the end is what made me move it on - you can't play the way it looks. For the price they go for these days I got 2 other quality titles in it's place.
