How I Stumbled Into Pinball as a Hobby

I didn't buy my first home until mid 40s, so I wanted to do it up right. I held out for a very large game room. It started out as a poker theme and I thought a WPT pin would dress it up nicely. I played pinball in my youth but hadn't played in the roughly 25 years since. Well, I'd never played a WPT so I went to a nearby bowling alley that had one to verify that it was what I wanted. I was devastated! IMHO the game stunk despite how much I tried to like it. Fortunately, the bowling alley also had LOTR, POTC, and Sopranos. So, guess which one was my favorite? Most likely you guessed wrong. It was Sopranos. I'd never seen an episode of the show, but I fell in love with the groovy theme music, plus the pop bumper shakedown grabbed me. I went home to think about it and returned a week later to give WPT one more chance. I was still disappointed, so I ended up with a Sopranos which I still have and cherish. Also, the poker game room theme is long gone and now it's a pinball game room. :)

Welcome to Pinside! Good call on going with the pinball game room. Reading your story you are right I would have never guessed you would love the Sopranos pinball machine but goes to show you never know. How are you liking the Tron so far?
