I really tried to rate this higher, but after spending about 10 games on this machine, I got bored. There is not a lot of complexity, which I think sets modern pinball machines apart from these old games. lacks variety.
It's built like and tank and actually very beautiful machine.

The recent addition of a massive code upgrade to add callouts, wizard modes and other rule enhancements has made this game even more fun! the Combotron is now Active! Foobot speaks! Roadie and DJ now give very good audible instructions on what was achieved and what to do next. Major improvement! The Layout on this game is simply wicked. Danger is the new king of flow.

It will be no surprise to me if this game settles into the top 5 games after a lot of folks get to play it. The flow is fantastic, and the ball takes so many surprising paths up down and across the playfield that it's hard sometimes to figure out where it's going to end up! Very good shooter. The mini-sling on the right side is just a joy to see working...unexpected launching of the ball up top when it hits there is pretty cool and keeps the play FAST! This is no stop and go pin. Jack must may be the new king of flow.
The songs are excellent of course, and there are plenty of them. Select a song and plunge. the music is interrupted when going into a 'city' mode, for another song to start! once complete the original song you chose continues. very cool. The overlord Multiball is fairly close to the Start button so that's a quick get for novices. Artwork is silly and fun but very well done. Lighthearted call outs and cartoon videos are a real chuckle, but the instructions given by the call outs really help guide players thru the game. I need one.

I finally added this game to my collection, and zero buyers remorse! It plays floaty, then BANG! super fast! The audio music is certainly dated, but the call outs are decent and not overly chatty. Drop Targets are so fun, and there are a bunch of them and they are central feature to scoring well. I don't think I'll ever sell this game.

As a huge Zep fan, I was real happy to get my hands on one of these. I heard so much positive talk about the sounds the spinner made when nailed. True! It's the shot of the game. but...not enough to save the simplistic layout. maybe because other shots are just so-so. I like the fact that the songs keep playing after you lose the ball...that's nice.
All in all, a smooth, easy playfield with not much going on. the music and lights are cool though!

I was excited to play this game at Flippers Arcade in Grandy NC. Unfortunately it didn't live up to my expectations. The shots were a bit clunky and real tight. I appreciated the thought that went into the unique layout, and the stacked targets, but the playfield just seemed too sparse and wide open. I loved the sound integration, but the game play for me was just not at par with some of the newer Stern and JJP games. The theme was difficult to wrap my head around too. Artwork was good, the game is very attractive.

I had a chance to play an evening's worth of games on BH last night. we played for a couple hours. This game, though made back in the early 80's is an incredibly engaging, difficult, but rewarding repast! Careful how you catch the ball or you'll lose it thru either outlane. The bonus structure is fair and easy to understand. The captured balls (capture 3 for multiball) is quite difficult and i never really completed that mode, but my playing partner did. What a trip to have multiball on this wide-body game. BH is really 2 games in one. the upper playfield, and the lower playfield are completely differnt layouts with different things to achieve. go into the black hole and hopefull you'll knock down all 3 white stand-ups to be able to get out without draining. the lower PF has full sized flippers which is a real treat as many games with small 2nd playfields have the mini 2" flippers which are not nearly as fun. I can't recommend this old baby more hightly. it's a great shooter, and a very difficult game to win. have a blast!

Too many stop and go moments. the lower playfield isn't fun, just a bit novel. animations are well done, but they delay the game too much. average Stern title.

If you want a game that continues to delight you and get your blood pressure up a bit, this is the game for you. Very fast, with several incredibly satisfying shots led of course by the warp ramp. Hitting that from the upper flipper only to see the ball come around agin and hitting the ramp 2-3 times in a row is a real pinball trip. the behind-the-flipper shot to advance team is super-cool as it can be done either directly or as a backhand from the right flipper. getting to the Kobiashi Maru mode makes you feel like you actually accomplished something!.
Fun game for sure. After 30-40 games, I'm seriously considering bolting it to the floor here. It doesn't hurt to have an Aurich translite and some movie-soundtrack sound either. real immersive.

Beatles is lovely, and fast, and pay attention or your turn is over. It is a keeper for me for 2 reasons. Integration of Theme/Music/Art. it's beautiful. #2 - The simplicity of the old Sea Witch design, modernized, is just speedy fun. not easy fun, speedy fun.

Ok, what is 'modernized?'
There are probably some good resources out there to tell you all the details about telemetry that has changed or the optical technology that has been introduced or the electro-mods. Straight up, The Beatles is smiling fun and damn-I-shoulda-been-fasterish.
It'll be here a long while.

I played JP back in January while touring the Stern factory. I got a few games in, and immediately placed an order. I'm not kidding, this thing worked perfectly out of the box. The only thing I had to adjust was the Nedry outlane post as it was really draining bad on the right side.
The distractions in this game are epic. While trying to go thru the paddocks, rescuing staff and capturing dinos, the Chaos letters call out to be shot. the Raptor pen is tempting to get a multiball, the T-Rex modes are screaming for attention....so much to do! No two games are the same.
I have 4 decently rated machines in my collection and anyone who comes over gravitates to JP....and stays there. The game is immediately accessible to people of all skill levels, yet is frustratingly hard to score over a billion.
The lack of movie clips and actor voices is kind of a bummer, but once you press start, it really doesn't matter.
The tight control room and 'O' shots are real satisfying when hit , as is the smart missle shot to the amber pops.

What a surprise when a code release allowed a user to select to play the Escape from Nublar challenge without having to clear all the paddocks! great feature.

I can't see any game being a better shooter ...

Very unique layout and rule set. get the cheese! not really a 'shooters' game, but the flow is real smooth....can get super fast especially once the middle loop is open. This is one of my favorite Williams Sys11 games for sure.

"I got a family!" Some of the funniest call-outs in this game have us all in stitches. The theme is well integrated, the shots are fairly straightforward...not a big fan of the middle pop-bumper section which slows down flow a bit, but the safe toy makes up for that. and the boat, and the stripper pole. If you like this series, you'll love playing this machine.

What keeps me coming back to plug quarters into Baywatch? Super Fun, Great sexy theme, silly video modes, and the shark flipper. There are enough shots to keep things interesting. I'd love to see a color DMD mod on one.

For a 40 year old game, Xenon still holds some attraction. I'm not just talking about the killer late-70's sexy artwork either. Being one of the first (THE first?) machines to have a human voice, and among the first with multiball....historically this game is worth having in my collection. She shows her age with limited shots. Tube, Targets, Spinner, Tube, Targets, Spinner....etc.. but that's old school and I am down with old school. It's a nice break from the crazy deep, complicated, difficult modern pins. It's relaxing to play, and to reminisce.

After playing at home now for scores of games, this pin will never leave the house. Easy to get IS multiball, hard to get couch multiball, crazy when both are active at once. The call-outs are funny, and original cast make it real. Original Simpsons art team too. the cabinet is whimsical and beautiful. perfect theme synchronization. VERY tough to get to Alien mode, but once you do, get ready because its wicked fun. still have not gotten the 'reverse flippers' mode. Every single person that has played it has really had fun...not just playing pinball but by being IN a Simpsons episode. Doh frenzy cracks me up.
Even the letters on the DMD are animated!

I played a Pro during a tour of Stern factory, then again at a local pub. Honestly I was eager to see how well the new projectory technology worked. Due to the placement in the pub, the lighting was just too bright to really see the projections well. I was happy with the flow of the game except for one major issue. the demogorgon was Impossible to hit. I tried hundreds of times and got so frustrated that it became my only focus in the game. probably my fault. Those who love stranger things will sure like the video clips and the artwork, but the middle ramp and repetitive fail on the key shot in the game made it tough to give the good rating that I wanted to give it.
