"A relic of a bygone age..."

My adventure with pinball started on my dad's laptop with the virtual version preloaded onto every Windows XP operating system. Prior to that, I'm not even sure I saw an actual pinball machine in my life. Of course I knew how they looked like and what they were for from various movies, but my personal interaction with that incredible contraption had never happened.

I remember playing on a pinball machine for the first time... It was in Switzerland in 2012. That day changed my life... Well, maybe I'm overexaggerating a bit. But it was a thrilling experience. The spinning lamp, the blue figure at the end of the playfield, the colourful lights, BAZAAR, "In ancient Baghdad...". For most of you pinball geeks I assume you already know that the device, which pulled me into the world of pinball, was a 1996 Williams Tales of the Arabian Nights. To this day it remains my favourite pinball machine.

I came back from Switzerland determined to obtain that machine. Sucker's hard to come across... But one day... One day... I had to satisfy myself with an 1989 Elvira and the Party Monsters machine. Beat my expectations. It co-ranks as my favourite pinball game with TOTAN.
